SHE KILLS MONSTERS is a play that’s been on my radar since I saw my classmates at CSU mount it as a workshop production my junior year. I was in love; it was effortlessly funny and heartfelt while still managing to cover some incredibly difficult topics.

It’s almost hard to believe I’d actually step into New Landia myself over 6 and a half years later - but when I heard that Abbey Marshall was directing a production down in Akron, I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of.

This show and this cast has been nothing short of a dream to work with. I feel incredibly honored to stand amongst such an amazing
group of artists!

In an era where protest theater is frustratingly scarce, I cannot emphasize how proud and honored I am to have been a part of American Idiot at Akron Civic’s MTP. It was fresh, brave, and held up a mirror to the world we live in, just as good theater has done for thousands of years.

Who would have guessed that one of my hyper-fixations would lead to a moment of total artistic fulfillment? In an era of suppression, it’s more crucial than ever to raise our voices together and stand for what’s right.

Thank you so much to @the_fran_parr for trusting, supporting, pushing, and LOVING us along the way. Thank you for making each and every one of us feel valued, no matter the role. We literally would not be here if it weren’t for you and your brilliant mind.

Godspell!🌈

This show felt like coming home in so many ways. It healed parts of my heart that I didn’t even know needed healing. A story that reflects the power behind true, radical, and unconditional love of thy neighbor. Without an ounce of judgement.

We live in a world where faith is weaponized against us, causing us to grow more hateful and isolated with each passing day.

As a lifelong Catholic, I reject the notion of using Christ’s teachings for hateful purposes. I choose love, compassion, and community.
