Between weeks Godspell post!

It's difficult to articulate how much this production means to me. I have spent the last several years of my theatre life hiding in the shadows of the wings. I have (happily!) taken every opportunity to stage manage, crew, and volunteer for a wide variety of shows at the theatres I call home. As fulfilling as that is, I have felt the lack of the type of bond formed among an amazing cast working together to create a great show.

In the cast and process of Godspell at WRP, I have found the fondest realization of that dream. In putting together a show about building a community, we have built a community. I have grown closer to existing friends, made new friends, exercised skills that have lain dormant or incubating for years, and rebuilt my confidence as a performer.

Special thanks to @realsupernina for recruiting me and @emma.figge for directing, and all of my endless well of love for everyone in the cast and creative/production team.

If you haven't seen the show yet (especially if you bothered to read this far), come see us! One juice 4-show weekend left. Tickets here: https://bit.ly/godspellwrp.

Thanks to @augie.man and @braelinand for the pictures.

🌟 opening weekend is in the books!!! 🌟

I heard about @westernreserveplayhouse from my fiancee, and seeing him light up the stage made me want to try to get back into theater. I'm so glad I made that decision! Even with busy nights, long commutes to and from work, home, and the barn, and my constantly forgetting to stretch biting me - it's been beyond amazing to create theater with such Lovely lovely people!

I spent a long time apart from faith. My church upbringing was loving, but the world of organized religion around it was full of snobbery, pretension, and worst of all - proud, open bigotry. Not what Jesus would want, at all.

To borrow @laurenstepanski 's words, doing this has felt like coming home! For me, it's a great way to get in touch with the stories and scriptures that have brought me peace again in these recent years.

I'm so so thankful to my loved ones who supported me as I rushed around, stressed over choreo, and who came to see me perform! I love you all so much.

Godspell is such a special show -- not afraid to be unrepentantly irreverent one minute and unspeakably emotional the next. I'm excited for this upcoming final weekend of theater and joy- and hope you come see it.

Also I crawl around and pretend to be a sheep.

I’m beyond grateful to have been part of this phenomenal production, from the production team to every technician who helped build the world we stepped into thank you for everything. @the_fran_parr thank you for always being loud in the face of silence and for creating the universe we got to live in. This experience was genuinely monumental for me, and getting to share pieces of my own story through Extraordinary Girl meant everything. Truly one of the most priceless experiences a girl could ever asked for.

sending all my love to you 💌

officially played a dream role in a dream show and i could not have asked for a better group to share this experience with. american idiot is something i’ve wanted to be a part of since i was 15, and that awkward insecure 15 year old would not believe how far she’s come from being told her voice “just isn’t strong enough for rock musicals” and from secretly looking up karaoke tracks on the living room tv when home alone.
feeling eternally grateful for everyone involved, but especially @the_fran_parr for taking this piece and making it even more relevant and necessary for today. she’s a fucking genius and i’m so honored to have been in such a beautiful, timely version of one of my favorite musicals.
