It’s my anniversary! 🫶🏾 October makes one year that I’ve been a regular contributor to The Northeast News (@northeastnewskc) . I’ve been writing and journaling since I was 11 years young so it’s really cool to be able to write for a newspaper 😏. Flashback Friday! :) last night, Mike sent these photos from a workshop I hosted at the (former) Blue Hills Contractor Incubator— Building Your Business Legacy, November 2015. That was an exciting time- Blue Hills had great tenants and a well-curated curriculum, @seedlawfirm was just beginning, and the KC entrepreneurial ecosystem was changing to pursue a more inclusive community. I am most proud of the fact that many businesses that participated in the Incubator are still thriving, creating jobs, and building sustainable companies. This morning over coffee, I opened The 1619 Project and just so happened to read the section on Inheritance. The story strikes a familiar chord and I was reminded why estate planning for business owners is so important to me. Each signing is a confirmation of legacy, an embodiment of the capitals of wealth at work. It’s an honor to be able to help facilitate sustainable business and transferable wealth through @seedlawfirm .

Also, today is George’s funeral. Grateful to have met him, to be related, and to be inspired by his life and legacy. I pitched him a business coaching program back in 2021 and it would have been great to study under him. May he rest in peace and enjoy eternity.

It’s great to be back in Colorado and it was my first time in Grand Junction. After my sophomore year of high school, I moved to Estes Park to work at my first residential camp. My primary career goal at that time was to own camps and community centers and I had a blast that summer. It’s been great being with USASBE colleagues and learning + sharing all things rural entrepreneurship. I’m excited for what’s next. Had a great lunch today with Hong (@blossomspaces ) and Emma at Broken Rice restaurant. We ordered it all- soft spring rolls, shrimp, pho, duck and bahn mi 🤤. The last few weeks I’ve just had a great, restoring time at women owned businesses including time with Hong, my interior designer 🥹; with Shauna, my massage therapist 🙏🏾; with my girls over at @birdieslovesme as they prepared to expand (!!), QT at @omgnailskc 💅🏾, and at some great women owned restaurants like @brokenrice.restaurant and Baramee Thai Bistro. Women owned businesses make the 🌎 go round and help keep me afloat! Plus a few other snapshots from spring- staircase lighting after my massage and an early rose from my garden 🌹:) I’ll be celebrating SEED Law’s 11th birthday here soon with a speaking tour and another anniversary coffee.
