POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

An upgraded and shiny new voice demo has been released into the wild for 2024 😀🐻

In the preparation for it, I recorded a few intros trying to find the right balance, but in the final edit, short and simple did the trick - you can listen to it and the entire reel at: https://www.emvoices.com.au/artists/lawrence-ola/ (or via the link in my bio)🎧😊

I thought I'd make use of one of the NG takes and chuck together this edit for the internetz - please excuse my dodgy map drawing skills 😬🌏

If you're keen to work on any voice related project, feel free to get in touch with my reps at @emvoices to get started! 🎙😁

Been afforded many an opportunity this year to showcase what I'm (allegedly) good at. I'm lucky as to have met good and kind people during the process - thanks folks! Be cool to do some more next year, eh?

RFDS S3 is finito! I hope you folks have enjoyed watching the show, as much as I did being a part of it and playing good old Nigel - twas really fun. Lots of thanks to everyone who i got to work with and learn from, in front of and behind the camera - its been a whole ride!

Special shout to @jack_onna_scott_tinroof and @emharvable who looked out for me like cool older siblings through the whole process; The funniest sibling @laila_blackshell who while i gave headaches to when asking to take photos of me at rest stops AND turning over a hotel living room to shoot a self tape, was a great laugh and inspired me to be more confident; and of course, being paired up a lot with the doc herself @emmahamiltonofficial and Mr Peacocke gave me a front row seat to some bloody quality acting chops, while also getting a small insight into nuances of their process and focus - I was learning yall!

One extra special cheers to Leigh Pickford, who had been championing me for small parts here and there over the years and to take a punt putting me forward on RFDS - an eternal thank you!

And to all you wonderful runners - thank you for the laughs, insightful convos, sing alongs, road trips to Quorn and Maya Rudolph quotes (TO WHAT END?!)

Having the chance to play Nigel was a blast. I got to do some comedy, bit of drama. Some questionable flying skills and button pressing. I even got to mention 2nd gen Kpop, one of my not so secret passions!.
To have Nige don the Maiava name was a big thing too, as it's a name from my family. Even more so to showcase it on aussie TV, how fortunate was I? (i even threw in some Samoan unintentionally in ep 7 if you can catch it😄😄)

It's been an adventure. Don't think I'll be flying anywhere anytime soon - still not a fan.

In honour of Samoa's win yesterday, here's a little comedic bit from @strangersinacarpark that always makes me chuckle.

Despite the drama and seriousness of the film, the script had afforded moments of comedy for the character of Aleki, and this bit never fails to make me laugh.

Although thankfully the Toa Samoa team wasn't built like me, otherwise the scores would probably be reversed 😅🇼🇸

Amidst a big clean up, I reacquainted myself with some relics from the past. I've talked about this before, but now coming across it at a different time of my life, it's a nice reminder about things I'm passionate about.

'Oscar' was a present from a friend, Karen, who I didn't really speak to until art class in Year 12. It was a really thoughtful gift that i treasured but didn't fully appreciate until 11 years later when I decided to pursue a career as an actor.

Now the chances of getting a real one are seemingly slim at this point - i won't lose sleep if it never happens - but I'd like to think I'll give it a good go at the craft and if me and oscar meet, sweet! If by chance it happens, I'll give you a shoutout Karen 😁😁

Oscar originally had a heart sticker on his chest that over the years fallen off, but i figure it's still going strong somewhere inside (perhaps a tad corny, but hey).

Grab a couple of your mates who don't mind looking a bit silly, and go and make stuff. Tried a 'Back 2 Skool' concept with friends and was photographed by the very cool and collaborative @rijan.hamidovic

I tried to do my hair how i did in my early years in school but i don't think that was a bright idea😄😄

I'm sure there is more tomfoolery to come with this lot! If ya want to try something silly, reach out and lets workshop something - if there are no opportunities, make opportunities!

Thanks to my fellow studentz @_brodie_wilson_ @tommyropati and @adorah_oloapu 🎬📹😁😁

Rounded up some of my cool mates who said, 'Yeah, I'll chuck on a school uniform and do a photoshoot in the park - why not?'

The notion of getting headshots and portraits can be a headache inducing one, but when you can find some of your mates who are willing to look a bit silly, you think up some fun concepts to try. We might've repeated Year 12 a few times :/

Shoutout to my fellow classmates @_brodie_wilson_ @tommyropati and @adorah_oloapu and the wonderful @rijan.hamidovic for shooting us - some sweet as piccys coming soon!

Can't wait to do the HSC..

Song 2 - Part 1
It’s Her Time

She had a name…

Part 1:
Sharing the journey of writing and producing:

“It’s her time” song.

I first started writing this deeply emotional song, not long after
Song 1; My Inner Child
was released, in early 2023.

It’s Her Time, was written as an ode to the creatives and the dreamers.
Those before us, who were unable to show their true talents.

Beautiful writing, art, songs, music & dreams left behind in now dusty secret journals; dreams they never had the opportunity to share.

Time running out before they could share their true passions and gifts.

It’s Her Time lyrics gently remind you not to be afraid to use your voice, share your stories. Someone out there needs to hear your stories, see your art and creative talents.

Life is too short…

I couldn’t have released this song without the talent and mentorship of: @lawrence_pola @the_lopez_life @bohifale @jonofernandezproduction @jayseeney

Song 1 - My Inner Child

Where did she go?

Part 2:
Sharing the journey of writing and producing

“My Inner Child” song.

Watching my friends in their element, in awe of and inspired by their talents.

Being introduced to and working with passionate creatives who were willing to share their experience and wisdom to help me understand the writing and production process.

Enthusiastic and driven to release, song 1 -
My Inner Child.

I couldn’t have released this debut song without the talent and mentorship of: @lawrence_pola @the_lopez_life @bohifale @jonofernandezproduction @jayseeney @madison_ruby_s

Always encouraging me, not to be afraid to share my own story.
Please be encouraged to share yours.
