POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Here we have a sequence I worked on for a lil bit at the end of last year beginning of this year. I had done some thumbnailing and other story help for this on and off whilst making Static but after a much needed break I went and made this. I feel quite proud looking back because you can see such a jump in my ability. It's the same way I feel now looking at the stuff I'm working on currently!!

'What the Tide Brings; When the Tide Comes' is a short that the wonderful @party.braids was/is making. It'll be a lot different when she finally does make it but to even get to see it evolve and change at such an early stage was an honour. Plus it's always fun to help and work with such a good friend!!

I'll probably start uploading my gestures and studies next before capping off this little recap with some more recent story stuff!!

Hello, I am not dead, I'm just awful at sharing things haha.

I really want to share my projects I've been working on the past few years as well as some studies and gesture drawing. So I'm gonna work through uploading them.

We're gonna go (mostly) chronologically so starting with my boards from 2020... the film was a lot of work but I started out with boarding the entire thing on my own (like an insane person). I'm excited to share my more current boards but this will do to start!! I hope you like seeing this stuff because I have quite a bit more haha.

This is my favourite of my comic covers I've drawn so far!! Mostly because it's also of one of my favourite comic covers... This one really is 20% study and 80% me so it's a nice balance ultimately and I'm super happy with how it looks :)

I might post some of my memes and sketches as a separate post tho...

Today's Post is the first of two comic cover redraws based on my favourite two characters... (I'll probably do more covers as well as I have two in mind). One of my favourite memes I've seen is people drawing Hornet and Spider-Man as friends. I believe @pizza990_ is the one who started the trend so thanks for the inspiration haha. I think out of the two I've done the next one I'll post is my favourite haha.

All in all tho I enjoyed the small details like making an in universe comics code authority... The choral codes authority...

Hello! I don't post often... For many reasons... But thought I'd start sharing some Silksong fanart and random things I've been doing... Like going unnecessarily hard at making postcards... I don't know how frequent I'll post but hey ho enjoy!

Silksong made an immense impression on me. Silksong might be my favourite game. Making this art has been probably the most fun I've had making art in years!!

And now we're all up to date on my sketches and gesture drawings!!

I'll try to make a more conscious effort to keep posting. I really enjoy these sketches and I love having the feeling of progression that I have these past few months. Tomorrow I'll share my mood boards from my current portfolio project!

(Also I love the drawings of the girl with the red Adidas!!)

Back to gesture drawing! Some good pages, some less good pages. It's really interesting seeing all the different forms people take and how that translates into the lines we draw. I still have a tendency to draw heads too small and focus too much on anatomy at times though, so I'm working on that!!

Last page is some studies I did from reference shared during an @aubdrawandpaint session! Had fun messing around with these! It was funny having all my pens start running out of ink whilst I was drawing them tho haha.

More train sketches haha. It's so funny because a lot of them end up messy and wobbly or poorly planned, but I still love how it allows you to not be too precious over them as a result!

I think my favourites out of these ones were the face that's cut into on the first page, my red ink sketches and maybe the mother slouched whilst her daughter fell asleep using her as a pillow haha. I just wish I'd spent more time getting that to read but oh well haha.

More gesture/life drawing! Some goodns and some not as goodns

I feel like there's still a tangible progress through them tho! So it's still really exciting to see them!

These are out of my mini pocket sketchbook. When I started doing more regular gesture drawing again I decided to take it basically everywhere with me. Which meant mostly sketching whilst on trains and buses, etc. It's been fun learning how to handle how bumpy public transport is when you're trying to draw haha. Also seeing tangible progress as the books gone along is really lovely!

The pencil sketches were a carry on from the prior two pages where I was still using pencil... again, I'm still committing to only ink for the rest of the year!!!

Oh also you'll see a LOT of Jordans throughout this... I kinda draw my shoes at least once per trip haha

So in June I decided to spend the rest of my year drawing only in ink. And so far I've yet to break that!! We are jumping forward quite a lot of gesture drawing to get to these but the others are mostly just shape exercises and honestly I'd much prefer to show these haha

I did want to share the last few pencil sketches and gestures I did around May tho as a kind of "this is where I began this journey" thing.

I have like an entire sketchbook+ of gesture drawing from the past two months...
