I spent an exciting week in Carson City painting for the Brewery Arts Center Plein Air Festival, and I’m honored to have received First Prize in the Watercolor category for my painting, The Turntable Crew! 🥳🎨

A huge thank you to our jurors, David McClamant, Katie Ann and Paolo Acuna, for recognizing my work, and to @breweryartscentercarsoncity and all the wonderful volunteers for organizing such a smooth and memorable event.

Special thanks to Valerie for leading the event, keeping us informed, and always being there to support us. 💛

I also had the pleasure of meeting renowned watercolor artist DongFeng Li, making some new friends, and discovering so much new scenery to paint.

Despite the 5-hour drive and the very hot, dry Carson City weather, I had an absolute blast! 😄 I’m already looking forward to coming back next year! 🫶🎨

Last but not least thanks to all of you my supporters and well wishers for helping me pick 3 paintings and send best wishes my way. 🫶🤗🤗🫶🫶

What a week painting in Livermore — one of my favorite and most vibrant cities to paint in.

Over the course of the event, I completed five paintings and entered two of them for competition. I was deeply honored to receive an award of both:

🥇 First Place for “Lingering Conversations”
🎖️ Honorable Mention for “Road to the Tasting Room”
Thanks to the judge Jane Farley for recognizing my work.

I painted “Lingering Conversations” at Press Cafe, where a beautiful family seated at one of the tables became part of the scene itself. They watched me paint and instantly fell in love with the piece — so much so that they made me promise not to sell it to anyone else.

It was such a special moment to witness someone connect so deeply with my work. I was truly moved by it.

Today, after the show, they took the painting home.

A heartfelt thank you to @livermore_art_assoc for organizing Paint Livermore each year, and a special shoutout to @ssssssylvester for chairing the show.

An unforgettable week at the Mariposa Paint Out 🎨 Beginning the year with my first plein air event here made it even more meaningful—and every moment was filled with joy.

Reconnecting with artist friends from last year and I was lucky to share the week with such supportive and wonderful artist roommates @ouroborose , @kittykombat , @daishalinsherman and @chariemarieart 💛

The exhibition saw a fantastic turnout, and the people of Mariposa were incredibly warm, welcoming, and supportive of the artists.

I’m deeply honored that my nocturnal painting “Neon Memory” was awarded first place ✨ Sincere thanks to judges Moira Donohoe and Veronica Gross for recognizing my work.

Even more rewarding—three of my paintings found their new homes.

Heartfelt gratitude to the organizers and volunteers at @sierraartistsgallery, especially @orlossy_artworks (Christina Orlossy) and @lgreeni (Lisa Greenstein), for their dedication and hard work in making this event such a success 🙌

Look what I got in the mail today, A lovely surprise! 💃🏽💃🏽

I participated in the Frank Bette Plein Air 2026 event in early August, and while I didn’t receive an award during the event, I was so happy to find out that my painting “Chasing Time” received the People’s Choice Award at the end of the En Plein Air exhibition at the Frank Bette Center for the Arts. ❤️

As artists, we spend so much time creating quietly, wondering if our work will connect with someone. Knowing that “Chasing Time” spoke to people enough for them to choose it is incredibly special.

I’m truly grateful to everyone who stopped to look, connected with the painting, and cast a vote. And a big thank you to @frank_bette_center for giving artists the opportunity to share their work and be part of such a wonderful community.

Feeling grateful, humbled, and very happy. 🎨✨

This was one of my favorite spots to paint while I was in Mammoth Lakes last week for Mono County Plein Air. This particular location was outside of Mono County, so I painted it after I had submitted my competition paintings.

I’ve been really into painting cows lately. It could just be a phase, but I’m enjoying it while it lasts! 🐄

This was my second painting at this pace. For this one, I changed the composition and added a tree to help frame the painting.

Here are a few more paintings and sketches I did during Mono County Plein Air that didn’t make it into the exhibition simply because we were allowed to submit only two. Apparently, I had to practice self-control. 😂

I spent my first day painting at Bodie State Historic Park, a fascinating Gold Rush–era ghost town. today it’s pretty much frozen in time—which makes it a dream for plein air painters.

Mono Lake was a completely different experience. It was SO windy that at one point I had to literally run after my watercolor paper block as it made a break for freedom. 😂😅

The paintings may not have turned out as planned, but I definitely learned a few important plein air lessons: respect the wind, secure your paper, and be prepared for an unexpected cardio workout! 🎨💨😂

Sharing a few moments from the Mono County Plein Air Reception. 🎨✨

It was a beautifully organized and wonderfully attended event by @monoartscouncil. A heartfelt thank you to @monoartscouncil and all the dedicated volunteers, especially @annemariehalldesign and Kristen, for their time, energy, and thoughtful leadership in bringing this event together.

A huge congratulations to my friends and fellow artists @denisebusony, @alarcon.adventure.art, and @allisonhorststudio on their well-deserved awards! So wonderful to see their talent and hard work recognized. 👏🎨

I had such a wonderful time reconnecting with old artist friends, meeting new ones, and taking in the beautiful artwork throughout the exhibition. Feeling grateful to be part of such a talented and inspiring art community! ❤️

I spent an incredible week in Mammoth Lakes, painting in some exquisite places for Mono County Plein Air 2026.

It was a plein air competition, but my real reward was meeting and getting to know some truly remarkable human beings. I’m making this post to give them a little shout-out. ❤️

I’ve known Jess and Becky since 2024, but this was the first time we got to spend an entire week together under one roof.

Jess (@sfjess.adventure.art) is kind, generous, and easygoing. She opened her heart and home to us for this event in Mammoth Lakes and introduced me to her wonderful friends from the mountains. She gave me a complete brain dump of all her recommendations for places to paint and treated me like a little sister—sharing, caring, and looking out for me along the way.

Becky (@alarcon.adventure.art), who I shared a room with, is kind, caring, and has a great sense of humor. Never a dull moment with her. She drove me around, and together we did my very first “Dark O’clock” painting, catching the first light of the day. She brought out the little crazy, fun person in me, and we matched each other’s energy perfectly. 😂

Both are effortlessly talented artists and such easy, wonderful people to be around.

Thank you both for making my trip to Mono County such a memorable one. I’m so grateful for the laughter, adventures, painting, and all the little moments in between.
