Good music doesn’t age. We do. @aftershockfestival brought the nostalgia heavy, from Wu Tang Clan and Public Enemy to Tool, Limp Bizkit and My Chemical Romance. And Black fans were in the mix for all of it. Rock. Hip hop. Metal. Alternative. No boxes necessary. ✍🏾: @mxwallace001

Let us know, should we make this more regular?

An extra big thank you, and so much gratitude, to our friends at Open Exposures for designing and leading such a joyous photoshoot themed Memory Cafe session today!💓 Our participants and their caregivers explored lighting, props and various forms of photography to create memorable portraits.

Open Exposures is a workshop dedicated to photography and close-looking. Thank you again, @lb3rdphoto @katieg93 @amayahmedia and @amyyoshitsu taken in Ruth's Table by @lb3rdphoto

Thank you to the amazing team @ruthstable for inviting us to share Open Exposures with the fun and creative participants in Curious Minds Memory Café last week.

@lb3rdphoto and @katieg93, the founders and curriculum developers of Open Exposure, led this workshop and were supported by @amayahmedia and @amyyoshitsu. Open Exposures is a workshop dedicated to photography and close-looking.

We had a great time creating stories from found photos with those experiencing mild to moderate memory loss and their caregivers (spouses, family members, and friends).

We appreciate the laughs, the stories and journeys we shared and we look forward to the next Memory Cafe in May! taken in Ruth's Table by @lb3rdphoto

Last Saturday, Specs Studio (@Katieg93 and @amyyoshitsu) and @lb3rdphoto and @amayahmedia had a great time at Black Earth Day organized by @ebprec! We spoke with community members who came out to clean, support, celebrate and bring love to 7th Street and West Oakland. To start the work we are doing with @eb.prec @7thstmuseum (opening April 2027!!!), we talked to people about their memories of, connections to, and hopes for the future of the area. The 7th Street Museum suggestion box is always looking for more stories and visions!

Specs Studio is supporting and collaborating with @lb3rdphoto and @amayahmedia who are leading the creation and @eb.prec produced documentary of the 7th Street corridor. If you or someone you know would like to share your story of 7th Street in West Oakland, please reach out to us and @eb.prec by @lb3rdphoto
