Friends - wonder where I’ve been? Eh I’m sure some yes and no and some probably don’t even know who I am anymore because we followed each other that one time we met somewhere.

Truth is I’m sort of tired of social media only showing the “perfect” of people’s life. Don’t get me wrong - may God bless all of you with all His promises. And my pastor advises us not to air out your dirty laundry - but I feel there needs to be more spaces where the ups and downs of life are shared. Because that’s life.

Like a heartbeat. If it didn’t go up and down it would be a flat line.

Unpolished and Learning was created because the truth is I’m just a human. And if you’re human as well, then we’re all still learning every day. And we’re all just trying to find our inner peace.

So come follow. Come find out where I’ve been. What opened pandora’s box that made me go into hiding and what I’ve learned.

Come be part of something raw, unfiltered and safe. My experiences and your interactions. Come follow @unpolished_and_learning 🦋 by @lbrd.llc

Today’s review is the Piggy Mac from Hometown Bake Shop in Centerport.

White cheddar, provolone and cheddar jack mac over slow-cooked pulled pork, all baked into a biscuit crust. Run don’t walk to try this one.

Some of you don’t know my full story
And you probably won’t

I’ve learned that if you keep repeating the same past stories over and over again it’s inevitable they’ll repeat themselves

I’m grateful for what I went through
Thank you to those who hurt me beyond measure
Thank you to those who said things that triggered me to freeze for days on end

More importantly, thank you God for whispering the words every morning to me “not today”
Thank you to my parents, aunts, husband, Teddy and chosen sisters who never left my side even in the darkest hours
Thank you to every human whose been on this journey with me

I am not my past and neither are any of you
If my smile can come back, so can yours

As I write this starring at a random rainbow in the sky with dreams God placed in my head, I want to cheers to what’s ahead and give Him all the glory

Because I’m just getting started ✨ by @lbrd.llc

To my little me 💜
I see you. I hear you. I love you. You never had to be anything other than exactly who you are. You were always enough.
I’m here now, and I’ll never leave you behind. I’ll hold your hand through it all, and together we’ll keep growing, healing, and becoming.
You are safe with me now. by @lbrd.llc

When you pray on content days that you get to stay behind the camera 😬 by @lbrd.llc

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned this year is how much the right fit matters.

Working at @gritandgraceds as the Executive Assistant to the CEO, Social Media Manager, and Lead Strategist has shown me that when your strengths align with your work, your perspective changes.

I get to support leadership, think strategically, help tell our clients’ stories, and contribute to building brands that have real meaning. Every day looks different, and that’s exactly what keeps me engaged.

For the first time, I understand why people say that when you’re doing work you’re passionate about, it doesn’t feel like work. It still takes effort, but it feels purposeful—and that’s a difference I’ll never take for granted.
I’m grateful to be part of a team that continues to challenge me, trust me, and help me grow. by @lbrd.llc

Everyone knows the saying

“A jack of all trades is a master of none”

But do you know the full quote?

“A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.”

I’ve never believed we have to fit into one box. Some of us are meant to create, lead, learn, adapt, and grow in many different ways.

Being versatile isn’t a weakness, it’s a strength. Every skill learned becomes another tool, another perspective, and another opportunity to make an impact.

Never let anyone convince you that having many passions makes you less capable. Sometimes it’s exactly what makes you extraordinary. by @lbrd.llc

We were asked to set up a small kid friendly Memorial Day party this year and we delivered!

If you live on the East Coast you know the weather was its typical cold and rainy Memorial Day weekend-self, but we did our best to make it fun for the kids and parents - including a glitter bomb party in the basement.

Life goes by pretty fast, at Elevated and Tailored Events we believe in celebrating every moment you can.

Ready to elevate your next gathering? DM us and let’s get this party started! by @lbrd.llc
