🏆 USA GRAND SLAM WINNERS, and off to Congressional Cup

Over the past month the team has been competing across USA in our first Grand Slam tour, part of the @worldmatchracingtour

With this being our first time in these boats and at the venues, we are super happy to take the overall win of the series having a 1st, 4th, 2nd, and 4th. As well as winning the USA Grand Slam bat trophy, and gaining us an entry to our first Congressional Cup @lbycconcup at the @long_beach_yacht_club

A massive effort from the New York team of @zach.fong5 @nickdrummo @marin.armstrongwills @jackporter___ @tuskar_sailing @hydey4558 , to take a 2nd at @oakcliffsail and a 4th at @seawanhaka_sailing

Big thanks to our sponsors @rnzys international sailing fund, Dominion Constructors, and NZL Sailing Foundation. Without them none of the sailing we do could be possible. taken in Oyster Bay, New York by @lbycconcup

Feeling incredibly grateful. Huge shoutout to Eric Monnin @monnineric for being my crew and always giving it everything with me on the water. Thank you to Jo Murray @jo_joventure for always being in my corner, cheering me on, and celebrating every moment with me. This article means so much.

To my little brother — thank you for always being there and pushing me to be better every single day on the water. And to my parents @cvickgo @brodskyortho ,thank you for never giving up on me and for supporting this dream through everything. None of this happens without all of you. @stbonaventureschool taken in Long Beach Yacht Club by @lbycconcup

One last dance in Long Beach to cap the 61st Congressional Cup.

The soon-to-be Olympic waters off Long Beach delivered five days of one-versus-one showdowns in evenly matched Catalina 37s.

Sunday saw comeback king Cole Tapper take down #1 world ranked Chris Poole in the semi-finals then a decisive 3-0 victory in the finals besting the defending champion Eric Monnin. The rest took to the starting line for a memorial fleet race in honor of the late Dave Hood.

Just as the Green Jacket defines the Masters, the Crimson Blazer defines the Congressional Cup - awarded each year to the winner.

Congratulations to Cole Tapper, the first Australian skipper to earn the blazer in over twenty years.

California’s Long Beach Yacht Club pulled out all the stops and rallied over 300 volunteers to make this event as professional, fun, and memorable as ever - a cherished stop on the World Match Racing Tour for those lucky enough to receive an invitation.

Sailing with crewmates Max Brennan, Jack Frewin, Nathan Guliksen, George Richardson, and Hamish Vass, Tapper became the first Australian skipper to win the prestigious event since Peter Gilmour in 2004. Defending champion Eric Monnin (SUI) finished runner-up, while Chris Poole (USA) claimed third place.

Long Beach showed off all week for the World Match Racing Tour.

Five days of racing at the 61st Congressional Cup. Sea breeze. Packed pier.

And in the end, it was Cole Tapper.
Down 0-2. Back against the wall. Then three straight wins. He knocks out world #1 Chris Poole, beats defending champion Eric Monnin, and claims the Crimson Blazer in style. taken in Long Beach Yacht Club by @lbycconcup
