Right now, thousands of children in Leeds are growing up without the safe, happy spaces where they can play, rest and simply enjoy being children.

At Leeds Children’s Charity, our home at Lineham Farm gives children the chance to step away from difficult circumstances and experience childhood as it should be — filled with adventure, learning, friendship and fun.

These experiences help children build confidence, resilience and hope for the future.

1 in 4 children in Leeds live in poverty.

Our new video shares the powerful, lived experiences of people who once came to Leeds Children's Charity as children, alongside reflections from teachers, parents, and our dedicated team.

Together, they tell the story of why Leeds Children’s Charity exists—and the lasting difference residential breaks and outdoor learning can make for children facing poverty and disadvantage.

Each year, we support over 3,000 children, giving them time to feel safe, build confidence, grow resilience, and experience a real sense of belonging.

These moments stay with children long after they leave—shaping memories, strengthening self-belief, and helping to open up brighter futures.

Because every child deserves the chance to experience childhood as it should be: safe, happy, and full of opportunity.

This stunning autumn sunrise captures just a small part of the setting that welcomes children when they come to enjoy a safe break with us. Surrounded by nature, adventure and open space, children have the chance to have fun, build confidence and create positive memories.

🎒✨ Supporting children across Leeds, one backpack at a time.

Last month, @AmazonUK donated backpacks packed with essential school supplies, including stationery, pencil cases and water bottles, which we distributed through our network of schools and community partners across the city.

As one local school shared:
"These items will provide practical and meaningful support to our children and families, helping pupils to feel prepared, confident and included in school."

The backpacks were packed and donated by the amazing team at Amazon
LBA8. As Tess explained:
"Our team at Amazon LBA8 came together, packing and donating backpacks filled with essential school supplies so that children across Leeds could start the new school year feeling prepared and confident. Partnering with Leeds Children's Charity allowed us to make sure these backpacks reached the schools and communities that needed them most."

We're incredibly grateful to Amazon for helping children across Leeds feel ready to learn and thrive.

Support like this makes a real difference. Every year, more than 3,000 children enjoy a safe break at Lineham Farm, where they can build confidence, make friends, try new experiences and create happy memories.

Come with us on a Content Day! 🎥

Earlier this week, we headed over to @lccatlineham for a busy day of filming, to support with their Christmas Campaign.

Our role was to capture the atmosphere of the charity, showcase the experiences available to the children and highlight the people who make these memorable visits possible. Through interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, our team helped LCC tell their story and show the impact of their work to supporters, families and the wider community.
