I came to share my paintings,
and came home with the warmth of so many hearts.

Thank you to my family and friends who came from afar,
and to everyone who spent time with my work and shared a conversation with me.

Every familiar face brought me so much joy and comfort.
The laughter and conversations we shared in front of my paintings
will stay with me for a long time.

Thank you for coming and being there with me. 🤍

🤍 by @leahlimn

About Me 03: Outtake

Thought the camera was only filming my hands. Apparently not. 😂

About Me 03

Why do I make these marks with a spatula?

It started simply. I liked the proportions of the small rectangular mark made by a 2 inch spatula and wanted to repeat that form across the surface.

But I soon realized that no two marks could ever be exactly the same. Even with the same tool and the same gesture, each one changed with the pressure, direction, and amount of paint.

At first, those differences felt like imperfections. Then I began to see how much they resembled life.

We move toward our goals, but life rarely goes exactly as planned. We fail, take detours, and sometimes make choices we later regret. Looking back, though, I realize that many of those choices were the best I could make at that moment. All of those experiences accumulated to make me who I am today.

Maybe finding our center isn't about never losing our balance. Maybe it's about finding our way back, again and again.

So I make one mark, then another. None are exactly alike. On their own, they may seem imperfect, but as they accumulate, they begin to relate to one another and eventually become something whole.

Maybe life is made in much the same way.

This repetitive process has become a kind of meditation for me, a way of accepting the time that has passed and feeling grateful for the life I have now.

I don't repeat the gesture to create one perfect mark.
I repeat it to let many imperfect marks become something whole.

So today, I'm grateful for my imperfect self, too. I'm simply adding one more mark to yesterday's and continuing forward. by @leahlimn

When my children were little, we spent a lot of time making art together. As they grew older, one of my favorite things became going to exhibitions with them.

Every year, we would visit art fairs at Barker Hangar together. And this September, I’ll be showing my own work in that same space.

It feels very special to come back, this time as an artist.

Light Note changes subtly depending on the light and where you stand. Colors and traces appear differently as you move around the work, something that has always been difficult to capture in photographs.

I’m excited to finally share that part of the work in person.

September 24–27
Barker Hangar

Tickets are 20% off through the link in my bio.

Light Note

@grace.chung10 🫶 by @leahlimn

Light note. 48 × 48 in
Painting, Acrylic on Canvas

When my thoughts become tangled, I paint.
I remember the good days,
bring back moments of kindness,
and gently put my scattered mind back in order.
I think peace
is simply a mind that has found its place.

A sunny day,
and having a brunch date to look forward to.

Having someone to sit with,
to laugh comfortably with,
and share meaningful conversations.

There are still goals I haven’t reached yet,
but I’m continuing to move toward them quietly and steadily.

Being able to stand before beautiful works of art,
and feel inspired and stimulated by them.

Having people who cheer me on.
And most of all,
continuing to believe in myself until the end.

I think happiness is often created
not from grand moments,
but from these small and quiet feelings gathered together.

A day that felt full of happiness.

“Every morning, think as you wake up:
I am fortunate to be alive,
I have a precious human life,
and I am not going to waste it.”

Quiet + Vacation.

At ‘Ground’ in 뮤지엄 산

A recent travel trend: Quietcation.
Quiet + Vacation.

In a time when doing nothing is becoming a form of wellness,I chose to pause.

The last place I visited was Museum SAN.

Within a space where nature, light,
architecture, and meditation intersect,
I intended to slow down and turn my attention inward.

Yet instead of staying still,
I found myself moving more drawn by the quiet intensity of the space.

And somehow,
that time felt less like rest and more like a process of becoming clear again.

Wellness, these days,
seems less about adding more
and more about letting things go.

That’s why, on this trip to Korea,
this place lingers with me the most. by @leahlimn
