"Reír" is correct. But there's a big difference between a little smile and crying with laughter:

Sonreír (to smile)
Reírse a carcajadas (to laugh out loud)
Carcajearse (to cackle)
Partirse de risa (to crack up)
Morirse de risa (to die laughing)

In Colombia "la tienda" is the corner shop. Every other store has its own name:

La ferretería (hardware store)
La papelería (stationery shop)
La miscelánea (variety store, a bit of everything)
La cacharrería (the shop for pots, toys and random household stuff)
La droguería (pharmacy, that's the Colombian word for it)

"La oscuridad" is the textbook word. Here's how to make the dark sound scary:

La penumbra (half light, gloom)
La sombra (shadow)
Las tinieblas (pitch darkness)
Oscuro como boca de lobo (dark as a wolf's mouth, our way of saying pitch black)

"Estoy cansado" is A2. A native speaker picks the word that matches how wiped out they really are:

Estoy agotado (I'm exhausted)
Estoy rendido (I'm worn out)
Estoy fundido (I'm burnt out, like a blown light bulb)
No doy más (I can't go on)
Estoy hecho polvo (I'm wrecked, literally "turned to dust")

El atún (tuna)
La trucha (trout)
El camarón (shrimp)
El calamar (squid)

A2 calls it all "la pierna". C2 knows the thigh is "el muslo", then comes "la rodilla" (knee), "la espinilla" (shin), "la pantorrilla" (calf), "el tobillo" (ankle) and "el empeine" (instep).

Spanish A2 vs Spanish C2: candy edition 🍭🍬

A2 calls every sweet "los caramelos". C2 says "las golosinas" for candy in general, "las colombinas" for lollipops (very Colombian!) and "los bombones" for chocolates.
