PICKUP HOURS FAQ! Lots of new faces around here lately, so we wanted to reintroduce our pickup hours! 👋

We’re a small team working hard to pump out the coffee you know and love, so we aren’t open to the public for drop-ins. The roastery operates by appointment only.

However, we welcome you to order on our website and come pick up at the front door during our pickup hours. Order by Monday at 12pm for same-week pickup hours.

Leatherback Roasters turns five at the end of this month. We’re counting down with a trip down memory lane.

Year One! We started a business and made it official. We taught ourselves how to roast in our garage with lots of trial and error. We started selling coffee online and at local markets.

Year Two! We got the keys to our new space, renovated it over the course of the year, moved in, and launched our first wholesale partnerships!

Year Three! We hosted our first public cupping at the roastery to celebrate opening with forty or so friends. We started partnering with local craft coffee shops and became a featured roaster at a shop Grace grew up going to!

Year Four! We continued to dig our roots deep with meaningful partnerships with trusted importers and producers.

Year Five! We’ve been preparing to grow with new electric installations and a new roaster with a larger capacity on the way! Trying to live in the moment and enjoy it without only looking ahead. by @leatherbackroasters

The Blueberry Dusk Latte from @fablecoffee.co — a white chocolate latte topped with blueberry cold foam 😋☕️💙

This was such a delicious and beautiful latte, and I felt like a mermaid while drinking it!! 🧜🏽‍♀️✨

I also tried out a bag of the “Deep Sea” beans from @leatherbackroasters and absolutely LOVED them! 🫘 They had tasting notes of cocoa, caramel, and brown sugar — all of my favorite flavors in one! 🙌🏽

Mo money mo problems. I’m not just out here to complain or slander a particular company, rather I’m sharing my experience because it seems nobody is talking about this publicly. I just want my roaster and to be excited about the largest investment we’ve made in our business to-date.

Is that too much to ask?

UPDATE: They have sent 1 image of the roaster, after much difficulty. I believe this post helped to escalate the matter and get forward motion on the situation. Thank you to everyone who’s gotten involved and helped us get progress initiated!!

Alejandro Ariza’s pink bourbon experiment has landed. We’ve been roasting his washed Castillo for three years—you may recognize his name—and we’re excited to feature this new offering from Finca La Argelia.

Coming to us from Inzá, Cauca, Colombia, this semi-washed pink bourbon tastes of juicy strawberries with the sweetness of white chocolate. 🍓 We’ve been enjoying it on the V60 here at the roastery.

Finca La Argelia recently became the first and only farm in Inzá to be satellite-certified and georeferenced—their implementation of low-carbon footprint fertilizers and practices are helping to reduce CO2 emissions and mitigate climate change in coffee production.

We’ve only got a limited quantity of this coffee, so grab a bag on our website!

We are mid way through nesting season! And our annual fundraiser! $2 from every Leatherback Cold brew and $5 from every retail bag while supplies last! We’re well on our way to smashing that goal and adopting a nest that everyone can visit this season!

Thanks to Leatherback Roasters for providing coffee and agreeing to push us over the line if we can’t quite make it! You guys have been loving the cold brew and we have tooo! Both black and in this special butter pecan mocha we’ve got running! Plus we’ve got a few more retail bags on the shelf to take home!

So what’s up with the fundraiser!? Well a year ago some ding dongs tried to buy up a bunch of protected FL estuary lands for development and we were brainstorming how to raise awareness! Partnerships were the best way we knew how to make a splash online and in person, so Leatherback seemed like a great fit. We’d heard Nathan and Grace were good people and a gem in Longwood outside of Orlando. We were able to take samples and get things rolling just as bipartisan protests got the land swaps cancelled.

Afterwards Leatherback pushed us over the line to hit our adoption goal! We got to sponsor a turtle nest, and it was so much fun having a picnic with our turtles that we had to do it again this year! All that said, it’s happening for at least another week or two! We’re going to go ahead and make our donation very soon, but we’ll keep the fundraiser going as long as we have this batch of beans and donate all we can : ) taken in Tetherball Coffee by @leatherbackroasters
