Saturday was a perfect day for a book festival at the historic Kirks Mansion in lovely Blufton, South Carolina! The weather was warm, not hot, with a gentle breeze swaying the Spanish moss dripping from stately ancient live oaks.

We met wonderful readers and other authors at the event, a book fair sponsored by @cozygirlsco.

If you look closely, you can see A River Remembers posing in all of these pictures.

Kirks Mansion, historically known as Rose Hill Plantation, is said to be haunted by the "gray lady," a woman who was traveling and became either sick or injured. She was brought to the house to be tended by Dr. Kirk, who was unfortunately away at the time. Though the family cared for her, she died without them ever knowing who she was. She's said to be a friendly spirit walking the historic house. While I'm not sure how I feel about that, and I can't claim to have seen her, I will say that nearly every time I had A River Remembers perfectly perched on a mantle or table, turned and took three steps away, it fell over!

QOTD: What's your idea of a perfect fall day?
AOTD: It really doesn't get much better than Saturday! It was gorgeous -- both the scenery and the weather.
