As I’ve gotten older, I’ve started to appreciate things I used to take for granted; still being able to jump around on my bike, get out for an afternoon run, or go for a morning walk with Maggie. Not because I have to, but because I choose to. Time gets spent every day, whether we’re paying attention or not. That’s where Spentwell comes from. A reminder to be intentional with how and what is spent: My time, my energy, and my attention For me, running has become a way to slow down, connect with myself, connect with the present moment, and connect with people. It’s where many of my best ideas come from. Spentwell is a creative outlet for that. At the end of the day, we’re all spending something. We’re spending our time. We’re spending our energy. We’re spending our attention. We’re spending our money. The question is: are we spending it well? Because the goal isn’t to spend more. It’s to spend it well. I will be sharing this journey by showing a behind the scene look of building the brand. Funny how things come full circle. Andrew and I met riding BMX like 20 years ago. It had been 10+ years since we’d hung out, but with him in Toronto from Kansas City, I made the trip to hang. Back then it was bikes. This time it was a few miles through the city, catching up along the way. Different wheels. Same energy. Sent him back to Kansas with some SPENTWELL gear.
