(Long-winded post, swipe if you don’t wanna read 🤪)

As I look back on the past year, I realized I’ve been stuck in survival mode since 2020. I never truly celebrated my accomplishments because my salon suite closed during the pandemic one month later after opening it. What should have been the happiest moments of my career turned into panic of how I will even keep the doors open. I felt like everything I had worked so hard for was going to crumble beneath me, and the worst part, it was out of my control.

During that period of time I left my home of 7 years, moved 4 times, left a 6 year relationship, left and lost friendships, started to heal and acknowledge codependent patterns, maintained being a college student while running a small business, and experienced burnout emotionally and physically more times I can count.

Now that 5 years have passed, I can look back and say I have so much to be proud of. My salon suite created space for other artists to build their businesses and have a soft landing during hard times. It has allowed me to educate so many artists along the way and even be a long-term home to my lovely suite mate. My space has provided connections, friendships, and confidence to myself and others. It has taught me how to balance leadership and ownership in a healthy way.

I learned to be kind and gentle with myself.
That what’s meant to be, will be.
That it’s okay to be proud of my accomplishments instead of thinking I’m not doing enough.
That being authentic and having boundaries will remove what’s not meant for you, creating space for alignment.

Thank you to the ones who have continued to stick around through it all. Love ya 🫶🏽

Curly K-Tips to match her natural texture. ➿✨♥️ This transformation took 7 hours, about 140 grams of hair, and a whoooole lotta love. My client had a tiny bob haircut we are growing out. She used to wear weft extensions. But wanted to try a new method.
