very last openstudio at parsons✨🧱🗂️ next is thesis show

𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙬𝙚 𝙗𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙮 explores how ordinary moments can be translated into physical forms, inviting viewers into a playful and spatial environment. The structure visualizes places and moments where core memories, emotions, and longings intertwine. The work consists of laser-etched, postcard-sized acrylic cards. These are fragments of everyday life that reflect the idea of anticipated nostalgia, the awareness that the present moment will someday be missed. The etched surfaces serve as metaphors for ingrained memories and faded afterglow, while their transparent and translucent qualities allow images to overlap. Their varied colors evoke the emotional texture of each moment. Each card is designed with slots that allow the pieces to connect into larger modular structures, evoking childhood toys and play. This suggests that memories exist not as isolated fragments, but as an interconnected structure. The colored shadows and reflections open up the space, extending imaginative and ethereal dimensions. taken in Parsons School of Design by @leeugene_art

Introducing Eugene Lee (@leeugene_art) Parsons MFA Photo 2026

Eugene Lee (b. South Korea) is an artist whose practice operates at the intersection of photography, objects, and installation. Beginning with a BFA in Ceramics and expanding into MFA in Photography, her work is deeply informed by the dialogue between these two disciplines. Through themes of childhood playfulness and a sense of anticipated nostalgia, she investigates the materiality of the photographic image. By layering and engraving images onto paper and acrylic, Lee transforms them into tactile, sculptural forms that invite physical engagement beyond act of seeing. Redefining photography as a spatial medium, she creates immersive experiences that employ light and color to explore perception and the dynamics of space. Her work has been exhibited internationally at notable venues, including Gallery Meme (Seoul), Gallery 881 (Vancouver), One Art Space (New York), and Mana Contemporary (New Jersey). taken in Parsons School of Design by @leeugene_art
