THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!!

Make sure you’re registered, link your music streaming service and play Oasis on repeat. I went to Live in’25 in Mexico City and it changed my life. Best concert hands down. I will be fighting for tickets but def okay if I don’t go if it means someone who hasn’t experienced them can.

I’ll share my tips for getting the tickets later this week!

Way before Manu Chao sampled it in “Me Gustas Tú,” Radio Reloj was already making broadcasting history.

Radio Reloj started in Havana in 1947, taking inspiration from quick news radio formats in Mexico, like XEQ. The plan was simple but nonstop: no recorded music, no long shows, just live, short news updates with the steady ticking of a metronome. At the end of every minute, you’d hear a chime and someone announcing the exact time live.

It quickly became the ultimate authority on time and quick-hit news across Cuba the literal heartbeat of the island’s airwaves.

Years later, Manu Chao took that famous broadcast sample (“Radio Reloj...”) and brought Cuban radio history into a worldwide pop hit.

If you listen closely, history can sound pretty great.
