It’s once again Mid Autumn Moon Festival! Continuing tradition Patty and the Lei team have made three different flavors of mooncakes: pineapple and macadamia; mung bean with pork floss; black sesame, medjool dates, and walnut

Available for purchase at Lei for pick-up this weekend until we sell out! $11 per mooncakes or $30 for all three flavors.

All proceeds are once again going to Immigrant Social Services.

We celebrated our birthday with an epic staff party and feast at Bobo’s Farm upstate earlier this summer. Wine was drank, karaoke was sung, staff Jeopardy was played, cake was consumed. Today is 端午节 or Dragon Boat Festival! To celebrate the kitchen has been hard at working wrapping zong zi, a mix of glutinous rice with different fillings wrapped and steamed in bamboo leaves.

This year, to celebrate we will be offering two kinds, a more traditional Hakka vegetarian one inspired by @pt_cruisey ‘s grandmother with garlic sticky rice, shiitakes and bean curd and another luxemaxxing Canto one by @dryagedhumour with braised pork cheeks, chanterelles and peanuts.
