To celebrate, I’ve joined the KAL hosted by @knitters.inthewild to make the Gypsophila Shawl. The pattern calls for one skein (obvs) of fingering weight yarn, anything from solid to heavily variegated. I’m pretty sure every knitter has at least ONE single, lonely skein of fingering in stash, just waiting for the right pattern to cast-on. Here it is! The perfect project!

As with all Life is Cozy patterns, it’s got one or two techniques that might be new or challenging if you’ve not done them before, but she’s got videos to hold your hand thru the tricky parts, and before you know it, you’re zipping right along.

It really didn’t take me 4 months to knit this top.
.
I mean. Yeah, it did. But, the knitting itself was quite quick. It was the planning, placement, and execution of the embroidery that took so long. Honestly: psyching myself up to do all that satin stitch probably took a month.

This is why I don’t buy graphic tees.
.
Obviously I do buy them, but I can’t wear them. Who could?! This tee is at least 5” too big across the shoulders, yet somehow too small in both the chest and biceps.
.
I spent all day making this into something I can wear. If I didn’t have: dye supplies, garment construction experience, a sewing machine, an array of scissors, and an entire day to waste, I’d be left with a top that I’d never wear. Which would be a shame, since the art - by @sapolloart - is so cool!
