I’ve known these guys since they were in high school back in 2015. Eleven years later, they’re building an incredible company, and I couldn’t be prouder of the builders and business leaders they’ve become (in Atlanta and beyond). But more than anything, I’m proud of who they are and who they’re becoming.

Quick trip to Vancouver to be at the first night of @tylercstaton After Amen Poetry and Prayer night. This man is a deep and trusted well and one of the voices in the Church that I am most excited about.

Getting to spend time with my friend @jasonaballard was such a gift. What he and the teams at @theway_vancouver + @thepastorate.ca are doing is so inspiring and unifying for Canadian churches!

And to top it off… getting a long overdue reunion with @jp_starra and @autumnstarra … two legends in their own right who drove almost two hours just to meet up to hang. They challenge me to be a better friend to people.

Slept in a crap hotel, but enjoyed a ton of coffee and a whole lot of avocado toasts every morning. Vancouver is a place worth visiting.

Last week, some worlds collided in Tokyo! It was amazing to get to spend time with so many church pastors, missionaries, and ministry leaders who are on the ground and leveraging their lives to tell the people of Japan about Jesus. What a privilege to be able to be in japan with @louiegiglio and @jonesbrad10 by @leightonching

About a year ago, I started praying for the people of Japan after learning that less than 1% of the entire population are Christians. I knew I couldn’t move to Japan, but I couldn’t stop thinking about that stat. So I thought the next best thing I could do was to find a missionary to support.

A quick google search led me to Andrew Igl (with SEND International)- a post-college 20something from Wisconsin who majored in Japanese in college and moved his life to Japan to tell the people about Jesus. His grasp of the Japanese language is incredible.

The instagram algorithm brought me James Miyashita / Reaching Japan videos (with MissionGo). I watched his videos long before I realized he had ties to Marietta, GA. I reached out and we planned to get a meal together when he and his family were back in Atlanta to visit their family. We met up in August of 2025 in Marietta, then Dec of 2025 at my office building. Then in James’ current hometown: Nagoya last week.

Instagram also brought me Colton Lee (with World Venture). We shared mutual friends. And He was another young person whose heart was set on Japan. He is getting married soon and returning back to Japan in a few months with his wife.

I met Levi and Mayu (with Japan Christian Link) through Andrew. Mayu came to know Jesus when she was an exchange student in the States and now has a heart to share Jesus with Japan. Levi is involved in Sports Ministry in partnership with Japan International Sports Partnership and FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) Japan.

My friends Kristen and Travis introduced me to their friend Chad at the end of Passion 2026 in Dallas, TX.,Chad is a Pastor at Mustard Seed Tokyo, and just happened to be in Dallas at the same time. We met up for coffee a couple days later in Dallas, and then a few weeks later in Shibuya, Tokyo.

It feels like the eyes of the world are on Japan. Have you noticed talks about Japan come up more often than before? I think Jesus is up to something and has a deep love for the people of Japan. Less than 1% of 126 millions people is a crazy statistic. But it doesn’t have to be that way. by @leightonching
