After two years of artistic research, street interviews, and workshops, the exhibition #LonelinessIsOK!? opens on Wednesday, May 7 at LE LAC in Brussels. It's the final chapter of the project Ode to Loneliness, presenting striking photography and intimate stories exploring loneliness in an urban context.

The opening night features powerful portraits, live music (by Oriana Ikomo and Suli), artist talks, drinks, and surprises. The exhibited work is by photographers Béa Borgers and Israe Ben Yahya, who, along with social-cultural worker Loïck Somanza, met and portrayed dozens of Brussels residents over the past year.

The exhibition invites reflection on how loneliness feels, looks, and sounds — blending visual art, soundscapes, and testimonies into a collective act of empathy.

Open from May 7–14, the expo also includes workshops, sound experiences, conversations, and ends with a comedy night. by @lelacbrussels

Black History Month Belgium not only celebrates the rich diversity of Black communities in the Belgian context but also highlights the different migration journeys that unite them.

Our Solidarity Event seeks to inspire awareness and support for those facing hardships in the RDC Congo, Sudan, and beyond.

Join us for an evening to reflect, connect, and engage in meaningful diasporic solidarity.

March is shaping up to be a full month of conversations, music, and community.

On March 6, in collaboration with @bhmbelgium , we welcome @bodman____ and @dianemarieuwase for talks and exhibitions, followed by unplugged concerts from @porcelain_id and @emmahessels .

Jeudrinks returns on March 13 with a laid-back evening of natural wines and warm sounds. @camiflage_snaretraderecords and @dana.kuehr will guide the night with downtempo and ambient selections. Homemade sourdough pizzas all night long!

The Vintage Fair on March 22 brings a fresh selection of thrifted clothes, decor, plants, and books, alongside a cozy café serving natural wine, apéro, and board games. Stands are still available for booking at 15€. Send an email to paulo@le-lac.be to reserve your spot!

On March 28, we host a solidarity event with Black History Month, with more details to come.

– On March 6, 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐠𝐢𝐮𝐦 and 𝐋𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐜 come together for an evening of art, reflection, conversation, and music.

The night opens with an exhibition by 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗮 & 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝗨𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗲 whose works explore spirit, memory, and identity through abstract and allegorical portraiture. They’ll share their thoughts in an 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐎𝐧 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭 talk, offering a glimpse into their creative worlds.

As the evening unfolds, the space shifts into sound. 𝗘𝗺𝗺𝗮 𝗛𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘀 will bring tender, soul-stirring melodies, followed by 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝗱, whose voice carries both power and vulnerability. Both performances will happen completely unplugged: no microphones, no sound system, just voice and strings filling the space.

Time to plan your December with everything we have in store for you!

On the 12th, we’re excited to present the first edition of Jeudrinks! From 4:30 PM to 10 PM, enjoy natural wines that hit just right, geuze with that perfect funky edge, and homemade pizza with just enough bite to keep you coming back. The tunes will keep it warm, the vibe will keep it easy, and the rest is up to you.

A week later, on the 18th, join us for Ode à la nuit perdue. Immerse yourself in an evening of anonymous stories and nocturnal escapades, illustrated live by art students and accompanied by a gentle soundtrack. (8 PM–10 PM).

On the 22nd, we continue the weekender organized by the Brussels-based label Heads Up, featuring DJ Rino and Penelope behind the booth all day long.

Bladlijmschaar brings their Kollage Kafé to Le Lac on the 28th for a day of creativity and relaxed cutting-and-pasting fun. The concept is simple: bring your collage materials, share, and create together.

The next day, on the 29th, join us for a Xmas Brunch from 10 AM to 2 PM. Enjoy vegan delights prepared by Bijt, paired with bubbles, wine, and homemade tea in the cozy company of your loved ones. (More info coming soon.)

Finally, ring in the New Year with La Brigade on the 31st! Celebrate with Brussels-based DJs, great vibes, and plenty of fun.

Saturday is approaching fast!!!!

We can’t wait to unleash all of this sweetness upon you. Our program will be constantly evolving, both in the club-space and the up-space, so come early and stay late!

Following the falafel workshop, and lunch there will also be performances, a tombola to win original art pieces by Palestinian artists @ismail.matar_ @hamadaelkept @husseinshamia and a flea market where you can donate precious items for us to sell, all profit goes to @brussels4palestine

There will also be info stands available to learn more about where you can be involved, how you can stay engaged, with initiatives such as @encampment_vub @kul4palestine @intal.belgie @gather_4_gaza @bxl_intifada and more 💌
