Sparkle, i can sit & pour my heart out for days on this page.. & im still going to. but i don’t even have to cause everyb on here KNOW how much, and you KNOW how much i love you. not past tense, bc i STILL love you, and i always will. I told u that since u could fit in my hand, & i told u that during your last breaths. i feel like you waited til i came back home for break to let go, b/c you wanted me to be there with u when u finally did, and im honored for that, i got to hold & comfort the sweetest dog i know during her last moments. u fought so hard while we called idk how many clinics, im proud of u baby. you couldn’t even drink water out the bowl bt you took the water i gave you through a syringe, you’re a fighter. when she took her last breath it wasn’t even gradual she was panting & giving it her all til her body just abruptly stopped. u knew i loved your gorgeous sunburst, brown eyes the most, & u left w them open so i could see them one last time. u always been tough u taught me a lot, & u definitely taught me how to love someone. u saw me at my worst & was there for me through it all so i made it my business to hold u in those last breaths. if it was me i know u would have been there 4 paws down. i gotta sleep w that stuffed dog i got from PINK that i put your old collar & leash on cause you always slept with me. i took u to get cremated yesterday, & looked for you to be wagging your tail hopping off the couch when i came back home. i'm losing my mind w/o you i still hear you whining & hear your paws tapping the carpet. u were always here for me in times like this, now your absence is the reason I’m like this, idk what to do now. im so sorry your “vet” failed u & imma give it my all to become a vet & help people w their fur babies. you did not deserve to leave like THAT. even after death you were just as gorgeous my love. i’d give anything to lay in a fresh batch of warm laundry str8 out the dryer w you again, fight over moms attention, or see dad sneak you a chip.. i struggled to pick 10 things to post because your life doesn’t just fit in 10 memories. i love you so much my babycakes. please stick w our brother Cj, & i’ll see yall when i get there🤍 by @lelenaiya

“The righteous care for the needs of their animals…” Proverbs 12:10 ✨

One of the earliest lessons my dad taught me was to appreciate all of God’s creations, especially his animals.

He taught me to be gentle, kind, and use my voice to advocate for the creatures who cannot speak for themselves. Animals are strangers to malice; they are pure souls led by instinct, carrying so much love into the world.

Losing my dog Sparkle (the LOML) first semester in freshman year… in my arms… was one of the hardest things in my LIFE. But my love for her carried me through all 4 years.

After long days of discipline and hard work, I’ll officially be a first gen graduate with my first degree.
