Happy Birthday To Me. I am not a number. I am a Free Man. by @leogilbert78

New Year's Resolutions are the equivalent of those generic treatment posters at Staples that say 🎉 Make Good Choices! 🥳🎊 Just empty. No real meaning. Zero authenticity. Motivation doesn't last. Daily discipline beats motivation. Incremental gains require patience. I pray that you and I will live authentically this year. Stay true to ourselves. I answer to no one. Only God. This is what I have come to believe. The enemy isn't "out there". He's right there in the mirror. Acceptance is the key to all of my problems today. Not one of several keys. Not the key to only some of them. THE key to ALL my problems. The musician Warren Zevon (RIP) was a lyrical genius. When he was dying of cancer, he appeared on the Letterman Show for the final time. Letterman loved him. It was genuine. Warren said several things during that conversation. My favorite is "I like wherever I am. That's my big secret." When Letterman asked if he had any advice for folks he replied, "Enjoy every sandwich." The samurai lived every day like it was their last because they may be called to battle tomorrow and be killed. So they enjoyed each day, every meal, every conversation. The concept of mindfulness is fairly simple to understand. It is the practice that is difficult. I continue to lessen my desire and attachments to material things. I am quiet. For quiet is one of my greatest tools. To reflect. To use my imagination. To not rely on outside things for entertainment or to fill up the empty spaces. Each day I try to be a better man, a better brother, son, partner, friend and Christian. If you're still here, may God bless you on your own journey. I appreciate you. by @leogilbert78

My carry pieces from top:
-Kopis Designs L-Via, satin finish, ramped blade
-Kopis Designs L-Via, tumbled finish
-Boker Five Point Nine
3 from Greg Moffatt;
-Wani in satin finish S90V
-OPK (Outside Paring Knife), satin, AEB-L
-Owaru, Cerakoted 1095
I enjoy carrying and using each of them. They work very well in Libre style moves. The Owaru is more of an outdoor/work knife in my lineup. Greg Moffatt is not only a skilled maker, he is also a very nice, down to earth person. I am pleased to call him a friend. by @leogilbert78

I finally got the tree up this year. It was exhausting. This is my favorite Christmas song. It is closely tied to a time, a place, and people I have lost contact with, and a select few that I still love after all these years. I find this a good time of year to reflect. The final verse is the most poignant for me. 🎶 Hallelujah, Noel, be it Heaven or Hell, the Christmas we get we deserve." I am quite sick with pneumonia and pleurisy at the moment. But I am content. I am at peace. My goal is to live an authentic life. I believe that I have. The people in my life tell me, directly or indirectly, that I have. And that is all that matters. Peace to all of you this Christmas Season. by @leogilbert78

If you've EVER worked in retail at Christmas time, then you know. by @leogilbert78

My great grandparents came over from Poland and didn't speak English. They grew up very poor in Syracuse NY. They had several children. My grandmother Julia used to tell us stories about it. The Salvation Army would help the poor out during the holidays. For Thanksgiving they gave needy families one chicken. That chicken fed a whole family. Therefore, my Grandma always lovingly called Thanksgiving "Chicken Day". In that spirit I wish you all a Happy Chicken Day. I am safe, warm, and grateful today. RIP Grandma Julia. You're always in my heart. by @leogilbert78

✝️🧭⚓ We'll all drown if we don't cut ties to the anchor.... by @leogilbert78

I've been saying this for years. The bull nose ring is used to control the bull. They are so stupid they want to believe it is a symbol of independence when it is a symbol of submission. Though their magic magnifying minds want to reassign meaning to it that doesn't change it. They have the world at their fingertips and know nothing about history. So easily led. The devil loves to dance with the willing. They should be very careful about protecting the rights of monsters that when given the chance will subjugate, violate, rape, and kill them without hesitation. by @leogilbert78

Rick Rescorla was the head of security for Morgan Stanley. He predicted the attack on the World Trade Center. He trained the employees for this emergency even though they hated it. On September 11, 2001 he put his plan into action. He saved all 2,700 employees on that day. He went back in to save others twice more. He was on the phone with his wife when the tower came down on top of him. Rick Rescorla is my hero. by @leogilbert78

I think the algorithm is eating up my time. I'm giving up IG for Lent. I'll see you after April 17th. 🙏 by @leogilbert78
