A bit of a late post.

On the said day I successfully defended my PhD viva, I found out that I had been selected as a grantee for the 2026 CMA New Jazz Works. Much gratitude to Chamber Music America and the Doris Duke Foundation for this honor. Also, a special shoutout to @shannonsayz 🇹🇹 for her work behind the scenes.

Many don’t see the steel pan instrument in these lights which makes the occasion much much sweeter.
I stand on the shoulders of many giants before me.

Looking forward to the new music to come!!!

My abstract interpretation of Happy Birthday. (Put some headphones on for this).
Happy Birthday to all you Virgos out there like myself.

Special thanks to @gusyp_aps for tuning my instrument.

My recorded works featuring some of my favorite musicians.

Check my bandcamp profiles for availability

🎶Dubplate Swing (Metamorphosis album)

FYI: I’ve removed my catalog from Spotify and other streaming platforms that don’t have musicians’ best interests.

The negative narrative portrayed by the press about Caribbean Carnivals around the world has been around since emancipation in 1834 (recently celebrated Aug 1st). What we see is straight from the colonial play book.

Check out these excerpts from Errol Hill’s Book “The Trinidad Carnival” Chapter 3. “Sources and Attitudes” pages 16-17.
