We’re proud to finally share this! 🌟 Last year we created the short documentary “Solidarity in Motion” for DAB – Diversitygerechtes Ausgehen in Berlin, initiated by @clubcommission. The film explores structures of solidarity within Berlin’s club culture which is built on cohesion, openness and diversity. At a time when these values are increasingly under pressure, the film highlights how collective care, awareness and shared responsibility keep these spaces alive. Spending the summer immersed in these spaces, stories and people allowed us to understand the urgency and importance of this work. Thank you to the DAB team @melissa.selbst (Project Management) and @heimlichman.euver (Project Assistance), for the trust and for connecting us with the amazing collectives. And to everyone who stepped in front of the camera to share their stories: DJ Ubax (Femme Bass Mafia / THF Radio Resident) – @ubax.x.x DJ Nasra (Femme Bass Mafia) – @nas.rima DJ Babe Gorgeous (WUB / Femme Bass Mafia) – @babegorgeous5000 DJ Isa GT & DJ Pvussy Divx (Puticlub) – @puticlub_berlin Katharin (CEO Clubcommission, Project Manager Awareness Academy) – @kathi.son / @awarenessakademie Kiki, Sophia, Ele, Chichi, Anka, Ruby (xcuse:u) – @xcuseu.kollektiv WUB – @wubwub.wubwub Melissa (Project Management DAB) – @melissa.selbst .selbst Miri & Amba (Mamba Berlin) – @mamba.berlin Thale (Queer Sound Camp/Founder of Subverted) - @thaletheothorin Yi & Jin (an(8)x) – @an8x.festival Ruru, Gizem, Grace, Yordanos (Oya Bar) – @oya_bar Antau & Jordan (Roses of Care) – @roc_awareness Ophélie (Open Music Lab) – @openmusiclab Team & Production Alena Margarita Kroker (Director & Producer) – @alenakroker Leon Frind (Director of Photography) – @leonfrind Markus Spitta (Editor, Music & Sound Design) – @markus_spitta Adrià P. An excerpt from AURA’S DANCE - a video work exploring female identity through the language of dance, based on the same-titled performance that premiered at @artbiesenthal @wehrmuehle in July 2024. „When I was young, I was taught that there are certain rules I should adhere to as a woman: don’t be too loud, fit in a box, act proper, be pure, be innocent. In what ways have those standards defined me, and in what ways have I actively engaged in and perpetuated this hegemonic narrative of femininity?“ Direction & Edit: @theresa_maria_forthaus Camera: @leon.frind Music & Sound: @leonhardvanvoorst Colour: @annahitova.color Voice & Text: @soraya.nmrk Choreography: @soraya.nmrk @annickschadeck Dancers: Leroy Mokgatle @leroy_mx Mari Kawanashi @marik49 Vivian Khoonavard @vivian.assal Lia Kemendi @liakemendi Soraya Schulthess @soraya.nmrk Shannon maynor @shannon_maynor Costumes: @kaviargauche_official #AurasDance #videoart #dance #contemporarydance #femininenarratives #femaleidentity by @leonfrind

SAVE THE DATE: Next week, Thursday, August 29, the interdisciplinary project AURA’S DANCE will be exhibited at Offsite by @wehrmuehle. On this evening the photo series and video installation AURA’S DANCE accompanies the same-titled performance which puts into question how societal expectations placed on women have shaped female identity and contributed to prevailing notions around femininity. It contemplates the authenticity of identity and asks how a dancer, female, male or non-binary might express themselves if freed from societal constraints and gender binaries. The work concludes with an introspection of unexplored and suppressed aspects of the self.
