Tim is still dealing with the aftermath of his burnout. The lottery of temp work assigns him to care for Odette, an 81-year-old woman suffering from memory loss. Through a mysterious phenomenon, Odette’s memories begin to surface in the young man’s life. Growing attached to her, Tim sees it as a puzzle to piece together, in a search to fulfill his own quest for meaning.

🎬 MONSTER FXXK (Project in Development – France/South Korea)
↳ A young Korean woman, sexually inhibited, finds comfort in 3D pornographic films. One day, she decides to turn her fantasies into reality.

👉 Directed by Seunghui Choi, a Korean filmmaker based in France. She moved to France at the age of 18 to study cinema at University Lyon 2. After directing two independent short films, she began developing an animated short, XINI, which has received support from the @le_cnc and regional funds, currently in pre-production. MONSTER FXXK is her first live-action short film.

🎬 Produced by @iarochandco, a French producer, co-founder and head of the fiction catalogue of @les_steppes_prod. Alum of the @midpointinstitute and Development Angels @limprogramme 2024. His latest short, co-produced with Ukraine, Belgium, Bulgaria, and Netherlands (UNAVAILABLE by Kyrylo Zemlyanyi), was premiered at @labiennale 2025.

Queens of Joy continues its journey across Europe.

A special screening took place at Mathäser Filmpalast in Munich as part of Munich Kyiv Queer, followed by an online Q&A with director Olga Gibelinda.

“Despite the online format, we felt a real, living connection with the audience. We experienced genuine empathy and support that truly came through the screen. We are deeply grateful to Munich for such a sensitive and warm reception of Queens of Joy,” the director shared.

For us, this is more than a festival award. It is a sign that the stories of Ukrainian drag performers — their freedom, vulnerability, and strength — resonate far beyond Ukraine.

On February 4th, join us for a special case study panel at the Clermont-Ferrand Market, based on our co-production experience on Unavailable as a five-country co-production. Together with the film team, director Kyrylo Zemlyanyi and producers Inna Lastochkina & Nicolaï Iarochenko, moderated by Jing Haase, will share the journey of making the film — from its very first steps at Euro Connection in 2023 to its premiere in Venice in 2025.
