Join Les Dames d’Escoffier International-Atlanta on Sunday, November 8 as our signature food and beverage fundraiser returns to its original home among the beautiful pastoral fields by the Inn at @serenbe.

This year’s celebration will be our most intimate yet, welcoming just 800 guests to enjoy tastings from 80 of the region’s premier chefs, restaurateurs, caterers, farms, wineries, breweries, distilleries, retailers, and beverage partners. It’s a rare opportunity to experience the very best of Georgia’s culinary community in one unforgettable afternoon.

A week of learning, connection, and celebrating the people shaping the future of our food system.

The Les Dames Atlanta chapter was delighted to welcome Amanda Severson of @grandviewbeef in Iowa, our LDEI Legacy Award winner, for a week of immersive learning at White Oak Pastures in Bluffton, Georgia. 👩‍🌾

Hosted throughout the week by our Co-President Barb Pires, Amanda experienced a behind-the-scenes look at @WhiteOakPastures, whose team generously opened their doors to share their knowledge, practices, and approach to regenerative agriculture and food production. 🐄

“I was absolutely blown away by Amanda and the entire experience at White Oak Pastures,” says Barb. “It was inspiring to see the knowledge shared, the connections made, and the opportunity for Amanda to experience this remarkable operation firsthand. This is exactly what the Dames Legacy Award is all about!” 💙

A huge thank-you to the entire White Oak Pastures team for their incredible hospitality and generosity in sharing their knowledge with Amanda throughout the week.

We wrapped up her visit with a farewell cocktail reception hosted by @globalgrowers at Decatur’s Legacy Park, where we were treated to a tour of their kitchen gardens and learned more about their impactful work helping refugees and immigrants preserve their foodways while building community through agriculture.

From their pop-up markets to their community gardens, Global Growers demonstrates how access to land, fresh food, and meaningful community connections can make a lasting difference. Thank you to Kate and the entire team, especially Charlie, Miyuki, Yemi, and Demetro, for sharing their knowledge and passion with us. A special thank you to @refugeenetwork for the delicious dinner!

We’re grateful for the connections made this week and look forward to staying in touch with Amanda as she continues her work at Grand View Cattle. Experiences like these—sharing knowledge, exploring different perspectives, and building relationships across our food community—are at the heart of the Dames Legacy Award and the Les Dames d’Escoffier International community.

🫒How do you buy olive oil?

On a beautiful, autumn, Saturday morning, Atlanta Dames gathered at Star Provisions to welcome an inspiring guest: Dame Marie-Charlotte Piro (@oliopiro).

💙 Dame Marie-Charlotte is the co-founder (with her brother) of award winning Olio Piro, premium Tuscan extra virgin olive oil, and a founding member of the LDEI Italy chapter. Her passion and
dedication to her craft was clear in every story she shared.

Over coffee and pastries, Marie-Charlotte showed us how to choose a good olive oil, starting with what to look for on the label.

“Look for a glass bottle, the harvest date, providence of the olives and you’re good. You know you have a very good chance to have a very good olive oil,” she explained.

Watch the clip and you’ll never shop the olive oil aisle the same way again.

Along with her brother Romain they grow their olives in Southern Tuscany, on 300-year-old trees on the slopes of Mount Amiata.

With expanding distribution Piro has been available in the States since 2020. An e-commerce site also offers products.

Products include: luxury extra virgin olive oils Olio Piro, Cucino and its newest product PiroMD for daily health. It also owns Acetaia Bonini, a traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, Italy.

One of Afternoon in the Country’s most beloved traditions is coming back for the 20th Anniversary (of course!): The Famous Cake Raffle! IYKYK. 💁‍♀️

And we’re looking for creative, crafty bakers, cake decorators and dessert artists who want to help make this year’s raffle extra spectacular. ✨

These aren’t your everyday cakes. The Famous Cake Raffle is known for show-stopping, wildly creative and seriously beautiful cakes…the kind you almost hate to cut into.

Whether you’re a professional pastry chef, a devoted home baker, a cake-decorating enthusiast or just someone who loves turning sugar and flour into something fabulous, we want to see what you can create!

And there’s a bigger purpose behind all that cake: proceeds from the raffle help support Les Dames d’Escoffier Atlanta’s mission to advance and inspire women in food, beverage and hospitality.

This year is especially extra special as we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Afternoon in the Country at Serenbe. Let’s make this year’s cake display one to remember!
