Every time I’ve sat down to write a post recapping last week, no words feel strong or important enough to convey what the experience meant to me.

I’ve looked up to @whiteoakpastures since we started Grand View Beef in 2017. They are one of the few regenerative, family owned farms in the U.S. that has scaled to a significant size. Knute and I want to feed more people, create more jobs, and prove this way of ranching can be both impactful and sustainable for rural communities. White Oak is doing that every day.

The time I spent with Will, Jenni, Jodi, and the whole team at White Oak was priceless. They poured into my education, generously gave their time, and opened their farm completely to me. They encouraged me while also being honest and frank about the challenges ahead. I left with so much to learn from, think about, and implement. Thank you just isn’t enough.

My time spent with @globalgrowers in Atlanta was inspiring. Raising your own food is one of the most rewarding feelings in the world. Global Growers makes that possible for refugee growers across Atlanta. Seeing their work firsthand was a powerful reminder of just how far the impact of food and farming can reach.

And to @juliachildfoundation @lesdamesintl and @lesdamesatl - thank you for organizing and funding this experience, and supporting me throughout the entire process. The work you do to invest in women in food and hospitality is making a real difference, and I’m so grateful to have been a part of it.

My heart is full and my notes are quite literally overflowing... what an amazing week!

E.K.Collabs.x | Dinner No. 3

Sometimes you meet someone and the synergy is immediate.

Keyatta Mincey (@picturesandcocktails_ ), founder of A Sip of Paradise Community Garden (@asipofparadisegarden), and I met in 2023, sitting next to each other at new member orientation for the Atlanta chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier (@lesdamesatl). We connected almost immediately and, eventually, got to the very natural next step:

“Oh, I like you. Let’s get drinks.”

Not long after, we started talking about collaborating on what would be our (E.K.Collabs.x @epulaekitchen ) first cocktail-focused dinner.
A Sip of Paradise Community Garden, felt like the perfect setting to welcome Fall. The garden provided a beautiful backdrop for Keyatta’s vision of bringing her Liberian heritage into conversation with different places and cultures around the world.
For this dinner, that place was Italy.

A Liberian Girl in Italy.

Chef Jeff (@cheffreyfp) created a menu blending Liberian flavors and familiarities into reimagined Italian dishes, while Keyatta created cocktails featuring Edmond’s Honor Bourbon (@edmondshonorbourbon) and Simple Man Distillery (@simplemandistillery )

It was a beautiful reminder of what happens when culture, creativity, food, and cocktails meet around the same table.
And just like that, a budding friendship became a collaboration.

Now, we’re counting down to Dinner No. 10.

Les Dames d’Escoffier - Atlanta Chapter recently combined 2 multi generational celebrations… the chapter’s 30th anniversary and 2026 scholarship recipients.

From retirees to young women entering the culinary world it was a night of friendship, laughter, and of course delicious food. It has been a joy to be involved with this association of women in hospitality. Enjoy this brief video!
