We are officially live!

Over the years the studio has grown and evolved in incredible ways! Today we are excited to share our new branding and website that reflects not only our history but where we are headed.

I have loved thinking about who we are and what makes us, us! It has been a process of reflection over the past twenty plus years, a deep dive into our work and a creative endeavor with the best design and production partners.

I can’t wait for you to explore our new website and I am so excited for this fresh look and next chapter at Leslie Schofield Studio!

After 20 years of raising children, creating memories, and a full remodel later it was such a joy to see the beautiful write up that Utah Style & Design did on our home.

Finding ways to add new life to the traditional bones of the house and thoughtfully place the art and sculptures we have collected through the years was something Jon and I loved doing together. More to come (including some epic before photos) in the next few weeks.

We often find that home offices need to serve a different purpose than a traditional office space (especially in a second home). Our clients want a dedicated space where multiple people can work and have flexible options; a place to cozy up with a book, multiple desk spaces for computer work plus storage for books and games. This lounge checks all the boxes with two petite desks framing a loveseat, complete with a fireplace and cozy armchair. taken in Park City, Utah by @leslieschofieldstudio

We should probably start featuring more condos here. Especially if they are as well done as this one.

If you ski at @deervalleyresort you know all about the @stregisdv! It’s one of the coolest properties around. Great pool. Great ski access. And you can use a train to get to the resort!

So this unit, listed by @ourparkcityrealestate, really caught my eye. A from the studs out remodel from @jacksonandleroy make this unit as turn key and updated as they come. Great interiors by @leslieschofieldstudio too!

Listed at $13,800,000.

We have called the Olympus Hills Mall (seated on the east bench of Salt Lake City) home now for just over 6 years. In that time we have completely gutted the outdated suites and created a space for our team that fosters creativity and comfort. Follow along as we share the behind the scenes of what it took to transform this 1960’s mall into what it is today.

Kicking things off with the Before & After of our first conference room. Pictured today and how the space looked like when we first gained occupancy, including our desk set up of folding tables and plastic tablecloths. What an adventure! taken in Salt Lake City, Utah by @leslieschofieldstudio

Habitat for Humanity has some incredible programs, including the Critical Home Repair program we participated in this week. They provide necessary safety and maintenance work to homeowners in need. Often this system is helping individuals aging in place who are physically unable to do the needed work and can not afford to hire help.

Yesterday the team showed up to remove a decayed deck that was a safety hazard, pruned trees, removed over a dumpsters worth of yard debris, and began the preparations for building a new deck.

Our team showing up for just part of a day provided this homeowner with over 80 hours of help, it was incredible to see what can be accomplished with this many hands!

Plus, as designers you know we weren’t leaving this home without getting a new front porch rug, pillows and a few pumpkins! by @leslieschofieldstudio

We have long said that good design starts with good people.

At our Community & Culture panel this fall it became apparent that the sentiment is true.

During the conversation we loved this sentiment shared by Erin Hayes of Peak Projects, “Commitment, honesty, building relationships when you don’t need anything from that relationship, ultimately builds a community - look at the opposite, what would it look like without that, if you didn’t build a community, professionally or personally, it would not be very fulfilling.”

We couldn’t agree more that life and work are more fulfilling when we build community. Thank you to everyone who was in attendance and makes this industry what it is! taken in Park City, Utah by @leslieschofieldstudio

Before & After: The Guest Bath

Sometimes a room doesn’t need a complete overhaul to be completely transformed. We kept the original floorplan and millwork, replaced the tile and vanity, and added wallpaper and decorative lighting. We will always advocate for a bold tile in a guest bath!

ART OUTSIDE

Each of these pieces has been collected over time adding personal memories to the landscape. We love finding ways to surround ourselves with art even when not surrounded by walls.

My mother made this concrete statue when she was in college, and it is one of my favorite pieces in the yard.

Explore the stories from our favorite personal exterior pieces of art.

Salvaged from a residence in rural Idaho. These statues were left behind by a neighbor of Jon’s brother; the new home owner didn’t like them and asked Jon’s brother if he had any ideas of what to do with. Thoughtfully he called Jon, thinking they looked like something we would like - a few days later we were in Idaho with a flatbed trailer, ready to do some heavy lifting, relocating the two standing Devi Tara figures to their new home.

This fire hydrant was in the parking strip of our property when we built our home. As new improvements were installed, the builder was going to dispose of it. Jon instantly moved it to the backyard; since then it has had multiple homes through the many yard updates. Always a conversation starter with guests. And no it does not work.

The kids’ handprints in the concrete. When the original patio was removed, the section with the handprints was cut out and placed in the garden, memorializing these tiny hands from when we built our home in 2004.

Devi Tara, the Hindu Goddess of Wisdom. In addition to being greeted each time we enter our driveway, one of our favorite and unforeseen things about this statue is observing the interactions with the neighborhood kids as they walk by going to and from school. She gets lots of stares and tentative waves!

These Lyman Whitaker wind sculptures were the first pieces of sculpture we ever purchased, after falling completely in love with them at the Art Village in Kayenta.

Buddha sits on the pathway to the sauna, bringing a calming presence, representing peace, mindfulness, and the path to enlightenment.

Ganesh, one of the most well known and worshipped deities in Hinduism, is the elephant headed god of wisdom, new beginnings and the removal of obstacles. by @leslieschofieldstudio

Last week we had the pleasure of bringing together some of the most passionate and talented voices from our industry for a conversation with the community.
I laughed, cried (is anyone surprised?), and was left feeling energized and grateful for the insight and expertise shared.
Thank you to Kelly, Travis and LUXE Magazine for partnering with us and to @ati_america for being such wonderful hosts. We are so grateful to Cobus from @bergdesignllc, Brandon from @jacksonandleroy, Erin from @peakprojectsllc, Marvin from @johnbrooksinc for being a part of the conversation and being such incredible leaders in our industry.

Thank you to all of you who attended and made the event what it was! taken in Park City, Utah by @leslieschofieldstudio
