If Halloween trick-or-treat happened at Privoz Market in Odessa:
you’d get a question answered with another question — and be fed “with a little extra,” just in case.
Ghosts wouldn’t be “making nerves” like lunatics. They’d be freshly starched, hanging peacefully on a clothesline, imagining themselves to be sails.
Witches — in curlers and robes, cigarette in one hand and food for all the neighborhood cats in the other — would shout after you:
“Meshiginer, may you drop dead — you need to put on some weight!”
And the magic crystal ball, frozen on Lanzheron, would predict:
“A big naches and a small gesheft.”
🎃 Halloween, Odessa style, at LOFT Restaurant.

We’ll summon the spirit of Panikovsky with forshmak, listen to and tell some mansy, read prophecies from an Odesa oracle, enjoy the food — and don’t forget to order the signature crayfish.

October 11th is Artist’s Day in Ukraine.

October 25th is International Artist’s Day (established in 2004 to coincide with Picasso’s birthday)—so there is plenty to celebrate!

I truly feel my artistic nature; it constantly compels me to give birth to, shake out of myself, and bring to life new creative ideas. I am quite exacting, creatively «wild and free,» and both ruthless and demanding toward myself.

This photo is from 2025, captured through the lens of the talented @cinepaulphoto . Time for an upgrade, I suppose!

Oh, sometimes when I look at my portraits, I wonder: who are all these people?))) Ah well, my husband must have a «fun» time with me! 😎

Scott Fitzgerald I painted this picture in 2016 and signed it with that phrase, not knowing I would meet someone who would look at me the same way. By the way, this canvas sold very quickly. And the buyer also met his future wife. by @lesya.verba

She is a Dentist, not a fashion designer or an artist — and that is exactly the point.

She wore my one-of-a-kind jacket to the Armory Show because she saw it for what it really is: not simply clothing, but a piece of wearable art.

I create these jackets for people who don’t want to blend in, follow every trend, or wear something that has already been copied a thousand times. They want individuality, craftsmanship, and a piece that feels as unique as they are.

You may be a dentist, a trainer, a lawyer, or an entrepreneur. Your profession doesn’t have to be creative for your life to be full of creativity.

You don’t need another jacket. You need the one that makes people stop and ask, “Where did you get that?”

One-of-one. No mass production. No copies. No fast fashion.

Because sometimes the artwork isn’t hanging on the wall.

An unforgettable evening celebrating Ukrainian culture, artistry, and identity in New York. 💙💛

Ukrainian singer and bandura artist Lesia Verba @lesya.verba wearing the latest design by Olena New York performed at a special event hosted by the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the United Nations at the Ukrainian Institute of America.

The evening brought together ambassadors representing 80 countries and more than 300 guests in celebration of Ukraine’s Independence Day.

Lesia performed Ukrainian folk and original songs with the bandura, as well as a beautiful fusion of Ukrainian music and American jazz in a duet with jazz guitarist George Grydkovets.

We are honored to see our newest design become part of such a meaningful celebration of Ukrainian heritage, contemporary culture, and the enduring power of art.

Special thanks to Svitlana Melnyk @svitlanamelnyk.ukr for her dedicated work and for creating such a remarkable celebration of Ukraine. 💙💛
