POV: that time the Earth wept for 2 weeks (and counting)🌧️.

September asked us to look for SORROW, and I found it in the rain. Unending rain. I guess sometimes we need the rain to remind us to be grateful for the sun, right?☀️

Inspired by the hymn Be Thou My Vision, @a.k.a_james and I are spending this year exploring one visual theme each month through two different lenses—slowing down to notice glimpses of God’s glory in His creation.

This month, we turned our eyes toward SORROW. 🕊️

September is traditionally dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows, inviting us to contemplate Mary’s faithful heart as she stood beside her Son in His suffering. We looked for the quieter forms of sorrow, too—things fading, changing, being carried, and ultimately surrendered. We looked for the tenderness within grief, the beauty that can emerge from brokenness, and the hope that remains even in the midst of sorrow.

There’s a story in this place📜

In the old tools, the worn workbenches, the grease-stained floors, and all the little things Papa left behind. So much history tucked into these walls—pieces of a life built with hard work, steady hands, and love.

I’ve been wanting to photograph my little guy here for a long time! Not just because the lighting is cool🤪, but because someday, these things will be his🥺.

And maybe one day he’ll look at a photograph like this and remember exactly where it all began.🤎

For August, we turned our eyes toward WATER. 💧

We found it in quiet places and rushing ones, in summer storms, rivers, rain, and reflections. But beyond its beauty, water became a reminder of renewal, baptism, and the Living Water Christ offers us.

“Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again. But whoever drinks the water I shall give will never be thirsty.” — John 4:13–14
