Inspired by the hymn Be Thou My Vision, @letsbegracefull and I are spending this year exploring one visual theme each month through two different lenses—slowing down to notice glimpses of God’s glory in His creation.

For August, we turned our eyes toward WATER.💧

We found it in quiet places and rushing ones, in summer storms, rivers, rain, and reflections. But beyond its beauty, water became a reminder of renewal, baptism, and the Living Water Christ offers us.

“Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again. But whoever drinks the water I shall give will never be thirsty.” — John 4:13–14

You can always find more than two tractors on my parents land 😆 A few more days to spend with family before we start our travels to the East Coast to start our new life. It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions for the last 6 months 🥹

This month, we turned our eyes toward RED. ❤️

At first, it was simply a color woven throughout summer—flowers, fruit, weathered barns, and glowing sunsets. But as we looked more closely, red became a reminder of the redemption won for us through the blood of Christ and the love poured out to make us new.

“In him we have redemption by his blood, the forgiveness of transgressions, in accord with the riches of his grace.” — Ephesians 1:7

In an effort to hold myself accountable each month to continue to create, @letsbegracefull and I are starting a new monthly visual series together—two photographers exploring one idea through two lenses.

Inspired by the hymn Be Thou My Vision, this project is our quiet prayer for guidance in how we see, create, and notice beauty each month.

This month: BLOOMS 💐🌸
Flowers, growth, and the quiet unfolding of what was always becoming.

Same vision. Different perspectives. Always growing.

Trying to admire these fleeting blooms during the chaos of our moving process 🤪 Hat was a last minute thrift store find 🙌🏼

Here we go again. School time is here.

Our routine gets flipped upside down and some of us might need weeks (or months) to get adjusted. But for now we are excited to enter new buildings for the very first time with backpacks on. Gabriel told me he is so happy to go to his favorited school and shouted: “Kindergarten!!” (instead of the name of his school). They both have absolutely best teachers possible. And rumor has it that Gabriel is with his best buddy from preschool in the same class. This is definitely going to be a good year.

Swipe to see my favorite part: their handwriting!

I always take a little video on the beginning of school year. This year might be the best one yet. Ben wants to work in law enforcement when he grows up. And the little one wants to be a teenager. In stories (but it’s bilingual)

Excuse me for now, while I go wipe a tear or two.

P.S. I have been always wanting to find a vintage blackboard like Jessica has for her school portraits @greyoakandsage And Scarlett @letsbegracefull inspired me to include their own handwriting on it!

🎗NEW THEME ANNOUNCEMENT 🎗

🎗️September is pediatric cancer awareness month.🎗️Today, 43 children will be diagnosed with cancer and sadly 7 children will die from this disease.

💛 The causes of childhood cancer are unknown and can not be prevented.

💛 Due to a lack of research, some pediatric cancers have a zero percent survival rate, either at diagnosis or recurrence.

💛 All 16 different childhood cancers receive 4% of the national cancer institute’s nearly $5 billion dollar budget while other cancers receive much more.

When a child is diagnosed with cancer, the whole family is affected and we want them to know they are not alone in this journey.

To show our love and support for the many families affected by childhood cancer we are turning Instagram GOLD this September with the support of many hubs, The Gold Hope Project.

@TheGoldHopeProject is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization thats provides free portrait sessions to families battling pediatric cancer while funding innovative pediatric cancer research.

Join us by tagging your images #teamup4goldkids or to learn more please visit @thegoldhopeproject

We also ask that you consider making a donation to Trucks of Hope. @trucksofhope is a registered non-profit organization that provides natural tools and methods in helping to support pediatric cancer patients and their families during and after treatment.

💛💛💛

Congratulations @letsbegracefull on your feature
