I didn’t just learn how to fly.

I learned what it feels like to chase something that once seemed impossible...

I thought I was supposed to buy a house. Get married. Have kids. All before 30.

I had the money saved.
I had a career.
I had spent 12 years in hospitality building a life that, from the outside, probably looked pretty safe.

But something in my gut kept telling me there was another life waiting for me.

So at 30, I did something that made absolutely no sense to almost everyone around me.

I spent the money I had saved for a house on flight school.

I came from a family with no money. There was no financial safety net. No one was going to pay for my flight training. No easy way in.

So I worked two jobs while I learned to fly.

There were days I was exhausted.
Days I questioned whether I was completely out of my mind.
Days when the dream felt impossibly far away.

And almost everyone had something to say.

“What the hell are you doing?”
“You’re crazy.”
“Why would you throw your career away?”
"You're not smart enough. You're not tall enough."

I heard it all, and maybe they were right.

Maybe I was crazy.

But I knew I wanted something I couldn't explain at the time.

I wanted a career I could be proud of.
I wanted to wake up and actually love what I did.
I wanted to look back one day and know I had been brave enough to choose the life that felt right — even when it didn't make sense on paper.

So I traded the house. For a cockpit.

I traded certainty for possibility.

And somewhere between the first lesson, the checkrides, the long days, the time building, the setbacks, and the little victories, I realized something.

I wasn't giving up the life I wanted.

I was building it.

And somehow, in the middle of building that life, I met someone who was doing the exact same thing.

I thought I was changing careers.

I didn't know I was going to meet the love of my life along the way.

Two people deciding, at the same stage of life, that it wasn't too late to start over.

If you're 25, 30 or 40, and thinking about a career change - it's not too late. Get uncomfortable and go for it.

Mini Vlog✨ recordatorio.

De mi época de oficina recuerdo un tema muy recurrente y que, sin estar presentes, salía mínimo alguna vez en el día: “los pilotos solo se quejan”.

Ahora es algo que vivo a diario porque comparto cabina con ellos y lamentablemente hace demasiado que no sé lo que es disfrutar de un vuelo sin tener que esquivar esa negatividad de forma constante.

En Febrero estuvimos en la Expo de pilotos de Bruselas y tras conocer a muchos aspirantes, cadetes y muchos perfiles nuevos en el sector, no pude evitar transmitirles algo que nos dijeron el último día del type, el curso del A320: “nunca perdáis esta ilusión con la que empezáis”.

Os prometo que al principio no entendía lo que me estaban queriendo decir, me parecía un sueño trabajar en un sitio tan privilegiado, con un avión tan espectacular y disfrutando de algo que tanto me había costado construir. Pero lamentablemente, después de 4 años volando, he comprendido lo que quisieron decirme porque este mundo no es para todo el mundo pero no debemos permitir que las circunstancias personales o punto de vista de alguien, afecte el nuestro.

Hoy soy yo la que necesitaba ese chute y en caso que tú también, aquí te lo dejo🙏🏼✨.

People often see the destination, but rarely the journey.

I made the decision to change careers at 30 and chase aviation. That meant working full-time while going through flight school, studying after work, flying whenever I could, and making more sacrifices than I can count.

There were plenty of days when the process felt repetitive and the goal seemed far away. But every early morning, every late night, and every challenge was building something bigger than flight hours—it was building discipline, resilience, and character.

Looking back now, every sacrifice was worth it.

The career, the friendships, the memories, and the opportunity to help the next generation of pilots all started with one decision: to keep showing up.

Discipline may look boring in the moment, but it creates a life you once only dreamed about. ✈️👩‍✈️

MATCHA FLIGHT💚✈️🍵

Mi primer Matcha en vuelo tenía que quedarse aquí.

Pedir un café como siempre, sin leche ni azúcar y que la SCC traiga ese Matcha con frambuesa machacada y leche de avena es pura fantasía…

Es algo que tengo muy pendiente y quiero encontrar la forma de empezar a llevarme mi Matcha a los vuelos, quitándome totalmente el café, pero facilitando el proceso porque para hacerlo en vuelo se necesita:

* Matcha
* Agua caliente - idealmente 70–80°C, sin hervir.
* Matcha bowl (llamado chawan)
* Bamboo whisk (chasen) – utilizado para remover el matcha creando una textura apropiada.
* Vaso APTO COCKPIT: lo más importante ya que está terminantemente prohibido utilizar cristal en cabina.

Por eso, saber que Nathaly vino tan preparada a nuestro vuelo y me trajo un Matcha de calidad con tanto cariño, me emocionó mucho.

¿Qué bebida que no está en el menú del avión pedirías? ¿Sabías lo del cristal en cabina?

*El vaso que utilizamos es de plástico rígido
