If you're trying to decide if Thumb Coast works for you, here's what last year's runners told us:

“Great communication, wonderful course, volunteers at the aid stations were top notch!”

“This was my first half marathon, and I couldn't have asked for a better day.”

“Great staff, support, info, affordable shuttle, route, aid stations, and pacers.”

The 2026 Rock CF Thumb Coast Marathon, Half, and 5K medal is here!

The stained glass medal design depicts the beauty of Michigan's Thumb - the sun, sky, water, lighthouse, and earth. The finish is brushed medal. Each distance has a different ribbon.

All regular and virtual finishers receive a medal. You also have the option to skip the swag and save some cash with economy registration.

When I was 25, I sat in a coffee shop on Woodward in Detroit filling out paperwork to set Rock CF up as a 501c3 non profit. Not knowing if I actually had a future, I wanted to help fund treatments and advancements for the cystic fibrosis community.

Fast forward to today, our community is thriving because of the groundbreaking treatments that have been developed, but that means our landscape is different and the needs of the community are evolving. Over the last 19 years of Rock CF, we have had to adapt, learn, and listen to our community so that we can continue to offer important and impactful programs and events. But we still have the same mission: improve the quality of life for everyone with CF! ⚡️ 💜

Let’s talk about Cystic Fibrosis and running.

If you know me, you know running has NEVER been my thing. I’ve never been a runner and honestly never wanted to be one. But I decided it’s time to challenge myself, get out of my comfort zone, and train for a 5k.

People with CF have a hard time breathing already, so the thought of intentionally doing something that makes you even more out of breath doesn’t exactly sound appealing. But exercise can actually be incredibly beneficial for CFers lungs by helping with airway clearance, lung function, strength, and endurance.

Thanks to @letsrockcf Kicks Back program for helping me take on this journey. Their program helps people with CF get moving and reminds us that sometimes taking care of our lungs looks like simply putting one foot in front of the other.

Here’s to seeing what these CF lungs can do! 🏃🏼‍♀️👟🫁
