Fondly remembering a July 2024 field trip to visit the talented sign painters and craftsmen at Beggars Tick Sign Shop in SE Portland. Thanks again, one year later, to Lee (@leelittlewood8565), Pete (@petersignworks) and Devin (@dksigns) for the hospitality. Love running into your beautiful letters across the region. ☺️🙏 by @letterpdx

Hey there, letterheads! 😄👋 ‘til we gather again in person, we have a prompt for you. ➡️ Show some love to your favorite small business. Here’s how. 1) Pick your favorite local small business. 2) Letter a piece inspired by them. Doodles are fine; this isn’t fancy! 3) Share it to your Instagram Stories or grid and tag the business and @letterpdx. 4) @letterpdx will repost entries with credit to you, the human artist. 5) Shop at and spread the word about these beloved spots. Submission deadline is Monday, July 14 @ 11:59pm PT. While our home base is in PDX, we welcome submissions from other locales, as well. 😊 Questions? Drop us a comment or DM. The oodles of small businesses in our fine city show up for us; how ‘bout we show up for them, too, in dollars and spreading the word about why they matter? (Consider this a teaser for the prompt we’re announcing next week, by the way. 👀) In the meantime, let’s admire this lil’ handlettered gem by the delightful staff at @thegreatnorthcoffee! 😍 by @letterpdx

Had the joy of lettering and chatting with the @capitalcalligraphers last night, welcomed with open arms and shared markers. Check out this WIP sample from an embossing and debossing the activity run by @madmermaidart. 🧜‍♀️🔠 Big thanks to @masgrimes for the invite, and to Laura, @manoffcalligraphy & others who made this lovely evening possible. Loved putting faces to insta handles. 🩵 by @letterpdx
