Reminding myself of simple joys this holiday season, like drawing little messages of hope on our windows. I know it’s been a tough year for a lot of us. Here’s to nurturing our inner light and seeking (and being) the good in the midst of a wild, wild world.

Today is my last day of our women’s networking group series, and we were asked to write an inspiring quote/message inside a card to bring to randomly exchange w one another. This is mine, inspired by one of our recent meetups where each of us brought a book or two that was impactful in our lives to talk about. No surprise to those who know me, I brought The Gifts of Imperfection by @brenebrown. I’m so grateful for that book; it was a catalyst in my growth and personal homecoming as I learned to shed perfectionism, masking, and over achieving in a desire to be worthy of love.

As I drew the card for today’s meetup, I thought about the challenges folks face in forming meaningful relationships in middle age. And how important it is to find the people we can be our authentic selves around, who love and celebrate us for who we are in our full, imperfect humanity.

I’m fortunate to have a few women in my life that span the country (and globe) who are that for me, and I am hopeful to deepen relationships with those here as well. I had a dear friend in high school who was my first experience of being my heart home, and I am forever grateful for her. For you all.

Here are a few illustrations I’ve held close for a while. Maybe they didn’t feel ‘finished,’ or maybe I just wanted to savor them quietly before sharing. Either way, time has nudged me to let them go, and I hope they speak to you in some way.

This year feels like it’s slipped through my fingers, with so much happening all at once. Staying present hasn’t always been easy, but I’m grateful for the moments that have grounded me—especially through travel, my ultimate happy place. It keeps me connected to the people I cherish most, no matter the distance.

With European and New Orleans adventures already on the horizon, I’m reminded to slow down and make space for gratitude, joy, and rest. Amid all the motion, let’s remember to pause, breathe, and nurture the most essential relationship of all: the one with thyself. 💛
