"Heavenly Father so loved the world that He sent His Beloved Son to help us. His Son, Jesus Christ, gave His life for us. Jesus Christ bore in Gethsemane and on the cross the weight of all our sins. He experienced all the sorrows, the pains, and the effects of our sins so that He could comfort and strengthen us through every test in life." by @letvirtue

Imagine if Nephi, Abinadi, Captain Moroni, Samuel, or Joseph Smith had decided that the cost of obedience was too high?

It's natural to question, to justify, and sometimes even to resist the commandments we're given.

Even Jesus Christ, in Gethsemane, asked three times for the cup to pass from Him. He knew the suffering that lay ahead. He expressed His anguish to His Father. And still, He surrendered His will.

“If ye love me, keep my commandments” requires more than believing in Jesus Christ. It requires the faith to surrender our own will and say, “Not my will, but thine, be done.”

Not just when His will aligns with ours. Not just when obedience makes sense to us. Not just when it's easy.

Faith means trusting Him enough to let His will take precedence over our own. by @letvirtue

"My beloved brothers and sisters, I invite you to always remember scriptures, prayers, the sacrament, and covenants. While they may seem small and simple, they are truly the armor of God that will help us stand against the tactics of the devil!" by @letvirtue

I don't think there's anything wrong with sharing our stories and experiences with faith. But I do think social media has created a new form of testimony: the "I'm telling you my truth without telling you how it's working for me" testimony.

We need to be careful not to let someone's half-told testimony justify our own walk with Jesus.

An experience can be sincere without being a complete picture of the gospel. And someone's personal conclusion isn't a substitute for God's revealed truth. by @letvirtue

"Yet, whatever your personal circumstance, you are part—a key part—of the family of God and of your own family, whether in the future, in this world, or in the spirit world. Your trust from God is to nurture as many of His and your family members as you can with your love and your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ."

My testimony.

I have been blessed. I know it, and I know that God knows it, and I cannot deny it, neither dare I do it. by @letvirtue

What If God Isn’t Breaking You… HE’S SCULPTING YOU, HE IS LOVING YOU?

What if the CHIPPING, CARVING, and REFINING of our lives are actually part of God's divine masterpiece and a way he shows love?

I need to revisit Nephi.

If anyone understood opposition, and how loud murmuring can be, it was Nephi.

He wasn't trying to reach people by becoming more like them. He didn't manipulate his message to make it easier for them to receive.

He stood firm.

He testified.

And he trusted the power of Jesus Christ to soften hearts and bring people to understand.

That kind of trust in Christ is something I want to have more of. by @letvirtue

"I should like to consider a kind of light that has infinitely greater power and effect. I speak of spiritual light. It comes from God and his gospel. In the scriptures, we find reference to a relationship between the physical light of the sun and spiritual light. We read in the Doctrine and Covenants, section 88, of “the light of truth;

“Which truth shineth. This is the light of Christ. As also he is in the sun, and the light of the sun, and the power thereof by which it was made. …

“And the light which shineth, which giveth you light, is through him who enlighteneth your eyes, which is the same light that quickeneth your understandings;

“Which light proceedeth forth from the presence of God to fill the immensity of space—

“The light which is in all things, which giveth life to all things, which is the law by which all things are governed” (D&C 88:6–7, 11–13)." by @letvirtue

"Along the way we should work to draw closer to Jesus Christ by increasing our humility. President Spencer W. Kimball defined humility as “teachableness.” He explained: “Teachableness [is] an ability to realize that all virtues and abilities are not concentrated in one’s self. … [Humility] is forgiving others in the realization that there may be errors of the same kind or worse [that we ourselves commit].”" by @letvirtue
