Our Back-to-School Huddle focused on equipping our boys with something just as important as pencils and notebooks: the confidence to advocate for themselves, communicate with confidence and take ownership of their education. Hearing directly from two of our mentors who are teachers gave our boys practical tools they can use starting on day one.

We are also grateful to the Care Pantry and other LPFLA supporters who helped provide school supplies and hygiene products, ensuring our families start the year with dignity and confidence. by @levelplayingfieldla

A 5K may only last a few miles, but the lessons last much longer. Our mentors and mentees participated in the Dreams Come True 5K recently and had a great time sharing in this experience.

Our young men challenged themselves, pushed through discomfort, and crossed the finish line stronger than when they started.

Our mentors had the privilege of watching that resilience unfold in real time, and left encouraged by the young men they serve.

Leadership is not about being served. It's about serving.

Our mentees joined volunteers from Sleep in Heavenly Peace and Lowes to help build beds for children in our community. While the beds will provide comfort and dignity to children in need, the experience also provided something valuable to our boys: the opportunity to see the impact they can have on someone else's life.

We are proud of these young men for showing up, working hard, and serving others with purpose.

This weekend, our boys had the opportunity to attend the National College Fair, where they explored colleges, asked questions, and began envisioning what is possible beyond high school.

We then partnered with Blue Zones Project Jacksonville to plant fall crops and harvest herbs in the community garden, learning firsthand that leadership includes serving others and caring for our community.

The day didn't stop there.

Thanks to another community partner, 10 young men received laptops to support their educational and career journeys. We closed the day with a session focused on pre-employability skills, helping them build the confidence and professionalism needed for future success.

As part of our Legacy Game Changers (LGC) Program, LPFLA moms and caregivers recently participated in an Economic Empowerment Tour, visiting 1Bridge Connect, learning about resources available through the Jacksonville Women's Business Center and Jax Bridges Program, and exploring opportunities at the Beaver Street Enterprise Center and The Hive Technology Center.

These experiences connect moms and caregivers to entrepreneurship, workforce development, coaching, mentoring, and business resources because we believe supporting the women raising our boys is an essential part of our mission.
