We’re sipping pumpkin spice in September and putting trees up in November like it’s a race to the North Pole. Shops are blasting Christmas tunes before we’ve even finished Halloween. As if you missed it! 😂 But here’s what didn’t make the polished IG Tenerife highlight reel… Me whacking the iron off the ironing board, which landed on my foot, opened up a gash and fractured two toes. Yes, I was drunk. The hotel flannels took the hit… covered in blood. Funnily enough, we weren’t given any more flannels for the rest of our stay. 😂 Obviously this wound me up daily. #flannelgate I was tempted to nick some from the gym (they had rolled chilled flannels in the mini fridge, along with fruit and other boujie stuff) BUT my solemn promise to go to the gym every day lasted approximately 48 hours, so that didn’t happen. I wonder why? Saying “we’ll just have one” with absolutely no evidence from the previous 49 years to suggest that was likely. And then, obvs, everything goes out the window. Including eating so much on numerous occasions that breathing became my exercise! And then there are the 784 photos I took in order to present you with these 14, because apparently I now think I’m fucking Condé Nast. Anyway. Life lately: Tenerife edition. Some think it’s radical that at “our age” we take selfies… and god forbid, post them! The radical act isn’t taking the selfies. It’s refusing to immediately tell yourself why you look shit in them. I found these photos from last year and my first thought was: Fuck, I love these. Why are we still so uncomfortable saying that? Appreciate the woman staring back at you. Take the selfies.
