My, until now, unchecked obsession with hair and legs has been somewhat foregrounded in “A Box of Impressions”, a new project bringing together 21 photographers.

For Lemaire’s new space in Palais Royal Lou Stoppard and Sarah-Linh Tran have made a miniature exhibition focusing on the themes of daily observation, ephemerality and the intersections between public and private that are intimately linked to the Palais Royal and arcade’s heritage. This notion nods to the writer Colette, who moved to the Palais Royal in 1938 and kept a journal of observations of the happenings and visuals she viewed from her apartment.

Photographers: Eleonora Agostini, David Campany, Teju Cole, Motoyuki Daifu, Moyra Davey, Elein Fleiss, Naohiro Harada, Osma Harvilahti, Paul Kooiker, Justine Kurland, Manon Lutanie, Ai He Mei, Jeff Mermelstein, Marianne Mueller, Tod Papageorge, Helena Pokorny, Lewis Ronald, Sage Sohier, Courtney Stephens, Hayahisa Tomiyasu, and Ana Vaz.

“Regret is a terrible thing.”

It was only earlier this year that I met the enigmatic Sarah-Linh Tran. Since then, I’ve been honoured to have my personal work included in her and Lou Stoppard’s Box of Impressions photography exhibition, on view with Lemaire at the Grand Palais. Together with UNIQLO, she also invited me to photograph inside the Lemaire atelier and the UNIQLO U R&D workshops, introducing me to Christophe and the team.

In February, I photographed Sarah-Linh’s incredible hair—her “protective shield”—for our new photobook, GABORITHAMILTONRONALD. The image was developed between Anthea Hamilton, Delphine Gaborit and me: her hair choreographed across Delphine’s sofa, with a trace of Anthea’s fabric behind it.

As we were packing up, I noticed a Polaroid Delphine had taken for fun. Its wider view of the room gave the image a narrative, and I immediately wanted to photograph it again.

Sarah-Linh was already wrapped in her coats and saying goodbye. Resetting everything wouldn’t be quick, but she said, “It’s okay. We can redo it.” We might still have politely refused. Then she added, “Regret is a terrible thing.”

It’s the restaged image that appears in our book.

Christophe Lemaire has the most beautiful walls of refined references. I guess i’d be crucified if I listed them all here, but spotting 19th century vagabonds beside German Krautrock bands and a bearded Tolstoy in his armchair made my day by @lewiser

GaboritRonaldHamilton is an artist’s book made in a series of sittings across London, Paris, Brussels and Lucca. It is the first major collaborative work by Anthea Hamilton, Delphine Gaborit and Lewis Ronald.

Titled by a grouping of the trio’s surnames it plays with the branding language of a corporate merger. The form of the book was the first thing established: slim in page count, gloss paper and a white textured cover, its surface withholds author or title, and is instead wrapped in sugar paper stamped with a list of a cast including artists, photographers, creative directors, dancers and poets. Inside, a suite of twenty-five photographs, made in the span of a few months in early 2026, are organised around a 100-year-old poem by Marianne Moore regarding a snail. The only piece of text in the book, Moore’s To A Snail, speaks to an aesthetic of restraint; a love letter to density, pressure, structure and compactness. In Moore’s poem, style – considered formally, linguistically, and choreographically – becomes muscular, capable of both tension and controlled release. Simultaneously intimate and analytical, To A Snail affords “a knowledge of principles” to the photographs’ semi-anonymous portraits – details of hands, spines, ankles, lips, legs, buttocks, ears, and thighs – and still lives. In lieu of adornment, Snail meets surface, hand meets hip, sea meets shore. The poem finally meets its twin by an image of hibernating snails. Where a snail’s ventral foot would typically meet a horizontal surface totally and entirely, here a l grouping congregates at the very tip of a l weathered twig: poised and condensed upon shared coordinates.

The book forms part of Archivorum×M’s ongoing publishing programme dedicated to contemporary artistic practices and artists’ publishing.

'The faces are cast from friends and family; the hands and feet are Kira’s. Beings materialise in the making, twisting and turning on their road to resolution. The sense of an individual evolves from a mood, a recollection, the edges shifted in the retelling. Their gender is vague. I ask Kira if they’re expanded self-portraits. She says they’re more like combinations of herself, loved ones and people she’s conjured up...' @jennifer_higgie

A brand new publication - Kira Freije: Unspeak the Chorus - looks in-depth at @kirafreije’s exhibition on display at The Hepworth Wakefield until 4 May.

The book includes an interview between Freije and The Hepworth Wakefield’s Artistic Director @smith.jayne.laura, while essays by @jennifer_higgie, @amy_bvdd and @jamiesonwebster provide insight into the artist's creative processes. A poetic contribution by @vanessa_onwuemezi offers a profound understanding of Freije’s transformative practice.

Anthea Hamilton, Delphine Gaborit and my contribution to the new “Group Work” issue of Motor Journal.

Over a series of WhatsApp calls and through sharing hundreds of found and archive images, we arrived upon a still-image performance, an editorial insertion that visually resolves some of our collective impressions of ruche curtains, curriculum vitae, Dallas, excess, the gradients behind handbag ads, eyes that know better, touch tours, ways to die together, corporate identities, access, and our individual preoccupations and emotional tendencies that slice through life. Thank you so much Isabelle Bucklow and Hannah Woods for inviting us, and for prompting the three of us to work together for the first time, we’ve discovered something special and there’s more to come.

Bonus points: the sliced-in dp spreads were made collectively but each one represents one of the three of us. Can you see who is who?
