Building a long-term relationship is HARD… BUT it doesn’t have to mean you chose the wrong person!!

Doesn’t matter if you’re in the puppy love, reality, conflict, accountability, choosing, or partnership stage.. relationships are going to change as you both grow, and with the right communication, effort, and willingness to keep learning each other, you can build something healthy without expecting it to feel easy all the time.

10 years. 😭🤍

It’s crazy looking back because at 15, I really did wonder if everyone around us knew something we didn’t.

Maybe we were too young.
Maybe we would grow up and want completely different lives.
Maybe loving each other wouldn’t actually be enough to make it last.

And.. loving each other wasn’t enough.

We had to learn how to be good partners too.

We had to learn how to communicate when shutting down felt easier.

How to have uncomfortable conversations before resentment built.

How to apologize without trying to prove who was right.

How to forgive each other for being imperfect people.

And probably the biggest one.. how to give each other room to change.

Because we are NOT the same people who fell in love at 15 lol.

We’ve grown up, changed careers, moved states, built a life of our own, gotten married, and became parents to our baby boy. 🥹

There have been so many different versions of us over these 10 years.

And somehow, instead of growing apart, we just kept learning how to love the person the other was becoming.

I used to think a healthy relationship was something you were lucky enough to find.

Now I think finding the right person matters.. but so does learning how to become better partners for each other.

And we’re still learning. 🤍

10 years down, and somehow I still feel like we’re just getting started. 🥹🤍

Happy 10 years Tu’Ron. I’d choose you all over again. <3

i’ve learned that your mindset can either make life feel a whole lot heavier or a whole lot lighter..

& no, that doesn’t mean pretending everything is great all the time lol. you’re allowed to have hard days, feel frustrated, and wish things were different.

but i’ve realized i have a lot more control over how i respond to things than i sometimes give myself credit for.

and the more intentional i am about that, the more i’m able to actually enjoy the life i’m building 🥹💛✨

SO here’s a little reminder that you don’t always have to change your circumstances to change how you feel about them!!!🤏

being young doesn’t mean you have to put your dreams on hold until someone else thinks you’re ready..

looking back, i’m so glad i took chances, made big decisions & allowed myself to figure things out along the way.

& at 25, i know there’s still SO much more ahead of me 🥹

i would hate to look back on this szn & realize i was barely present for it..

lately i’ve noticed how easy it is to let my to-do list dictate my mood. even on the good days, i’m thinking about what needs to get done next instead of enjoying what’s right in front of me.

so i’m trying to make more room for the things that help me slow down.. journaling, practicing gratitude, and taking a few minutes to just be where i am.

because 3 years ago, i was dreaming about the flexibility to work for myself and have days like these.

and now they’re just my normal days 🥹

i still have so many things i want to accomplish, but i don’t want to spend so much time chasing the next thing that i miss the life i’m already living.💛✨
