GRWM: Swing Edition 🎪✨

10 days until opening night, and we’re getting this circus on the road!

Is it always glamorous? No.
Am I going to make it glamorous anyway? Absolutely. 💅🏽✨

Step 1: Giving my partner-in-crime a little makeover. 😉💋

There’s a whole lot that goes into getting a circus show (and its artists!) ready for the stage. Here’s a little peek at my pre-tour checklist:

✔️ Fresh tape for my swing
✔️ New tubing
✔️ Rigging safety check
✔️ Hula hoop maintenance
✔️ Restock the essentials: chalk, tape, Tiger Balm, Band-Aids… and snacks, obviously.

TILT! An 80’s Circus Thrill Ride with @cirquemechanics is almost here! Check out our tour schedule and let me know if we’ll be seeing you somewhere along the way—especially during our New York residency this December! 🎪

Shoutout to @flyist.kid.in.town for the new bar tape! Already loving it. 🖤✨

Circus friends: what’s always on your pre-show equipment checklist?

Okay but first I wanna thank @lexipowww for being one of the most genuinely kind and dopest humans I’ve met✨✨✨💕 I’m so happy the planets aligned and we got to train together. Your program changed the way I looked at movement and brought consistency to my training on the ground and in the air. I wanted results and you went above and beyond to take the time and care to deliver. I’m so grateful for you! They call me a muscle mami at the gym now💪🏽😘 I lost the connection with my body and got a little discouraged with training this past year. But I’m starting to feel like myself again and I’m definitely so inspired to keep moving and learning. Sometimes you’ve got to go back to the root of the training to understand how and why it works. And getting to train dynamics has been fun and challenging. This was just the warm up I got on film and sadly didn’t record the combo 🤦🏽‍♀️ my skin remembers it tho 😅 I’m also grateful that aerial has been such a big part of life and for all of the amazing people I’ve met and will meet through it. Thanks for being an inspiration and an amazing coach girl 💗💗💗✨✨✨ I hope the stars align again soon because this was too much fun. by @lexipowww

Sometimes life may seem like it’s spinning out of control… but what if that’s just the Universe asking you to find your center??? It’s physics.

I don’t know about y’all, but my aerial arch nemesis is… the MICROBEND!!! 🫠😩🥸 and not just in the air! Let’s be real, keeping your legs, engaged and strong in any movement practice can be difficult.
.
But never fear 😃🤩🤗 We have drills to fix that!
.
This is one of my new favorite exercise sequences for waking up that lower half and straightening out that split! You’ll want a long, medium strength resistance band… enough so you have full range of motion, but not so light we’re not feeling the work. Position yourself on a table, bench, or stack of mats and have at it! I recommend 8-12 on each side, repeat 3x or incorporating a smaller set into your warm up.
.
Give it a try! Tag a friend in the comments to do it with you (because accountability 🤗) and let me know how it goes!!!
