June - September Dump ✨

The summer/ last few months have been a whirlwind. I ran a half marathon, injured my knee, celebrated pride, poured into those around me, went on my first cruise, spent time with family, reconnected with old friends, met new friends, chose myself, booked a national commercial, got 2 new jobs and maintained the other things that were already in my life. I really don’t know how I do it all most of the time.. but I do.

I am so proud and grateful for the life I have created because that’s just what I did… I created it. It took a lot to get me here and there’s still more to build & create.

Living alone and working mostly from home can be very secluded and while I love my alone time and doing things on my own, it can feel isolating at times. When it feels that way I remind myself of the small community that has held me in times, by looking back at my photos and it gives me hope. Like this song says, My heart has never been my own, I always hand it out. Take a piece of me, keep it for when I am away, I’ll be your relic.🪽

I am so proud of the way I move, how I have difficult convos, how I live by my values, how I try to be a person of my word and how consistent I am. Some people may never understand why I move the way I move and it’s okay because not everyone can understand & come with you. Not everything meaningful asks to be understood. I have worked hard to create peace in my life and there’s still more work to do. I hope everyone can create this type of peace in their life because everyone deserves it. And we continue to grow & do the work.🤞🏽 by @lexxsaenz

Never could I ever imagine this song blowing up 5 years later and me getting to perform it live around the US from 2025 into 2026. I’m so grateful 🥲

This moment right here was so special because I got to perform it live and get a professional recording of it with the person I originally created it with, @wejustwill . This was our first time singing it together since we recorded it in the studio in 2022. I wrote the lyrics and Justin helped me put it into a song with the @brotherskoren for a mini docu-series showing 2021. Flash forward to 2025 it was put into a documentary film for @rising_hearts called ‘Run in Beauty’. Because of Rising hearts and my sister @nativein_la I have been able to travel with the film and perform it live in so many places. I want to thank Jordan for using my song in the film and always bringing me along to be able to do what I love… perform! 💕
I want to thank Justin for wanting to include this song in his YouTube series. I want to thank all of you who listen and play it because this has always been a dream of mine!

Little me would be so proud. Big me is so proud! So grateful for the opportunities like this, where I get to create, educate, bring awareness to the issues that mean the most to me and inspire people! Things are heavy right now, specially in the dance community. I love that we have dance as an outlet to move through it all.

I’m teaching this piece on Thursday at @ml.danceclasses at 2:30pm-4pm.

RAW REBIRTH

Memories and wisdom cling to my hair with remnants of beauty and lessons. I cut my hair when there is a death, to let go. I keep the teachings and let go of everything else. The pain is necessary for growth. There is beauty in death. There is beauty in rebirth. To know grief is to know love. We fall in love again and again.
