Another great LGFAA Social Hour in the books! Always a great time bringing our Fellows alumni community together, reconnecting with old friends, building new relationships, and creating opportunities to stay engaged beyond the fellowship.

The fellowship may end, but the relationships and impact continue ⚜️

The Voices From the Capitol Speaker Series continued last week with an engaging session featuring former Louisiana Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, and Commissioner of Administration Jay Dardenne, one of Louisiana’s most accomplished and respected public servants.

With alumni representing multiple Governor’s Fellows classes, the discussion focused on leadership and public service, drawing on Jay’s decades of experience serving Louisiana at the highest levels of state government. He emphasized three key characteristics that have shaped his leadership journey: enthusiasm, optimism, and integrity.

Through personal stories and lessons learned throughout his distinguished career, Jay shared how these principles can help leaders navigate challenges, build trust, and inspire others to work toward a common goal. His message reinforced the importance of leading with purpose, maintaining a positive outlook, and staying grounded in strong values.

The conversation provided valuable insights for Fellows alumni committed to making a difference in their communities, careers, and public service endeavors.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and former Louisiana Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne for sharing his leadership wisdom and experiences. More conversations to come.

With 20+ attendees representing multiple Governor’s Fellows classes, the virtual discussion explored the origin story of the Fellows Program, its impact on Louisiana governance, and its vision for developing the next generation of public leaders.

This first session set the tone for meaningful conversations about leadership, public service, and the future of Louisiana policy.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to launch this series. More conversations to come.
