Last night, on July the 12th of 2025, I had the extreme pleasure of officially launching the Louisiana Governor’s Fellowship Alumni Association as head founder alongside the most brilliant co-founders @maximo_valobra and @lilkellysullivan

The Louisiana Governor’s Fellowship Alumni Association is more than just an organization dedicated to alumni. It is an organization dedicated to cultivating a healthy community between Louisiana’s next generation of leaders. As committed leaders of the state we should uphold one common mission, to foster a prosperous Louisiana for those who will follow our footsteps. This is not just an annual get together, instead, it will be an organization committed to community service, scholarship, and community mentorship.

For the advancement of Louisiana⚜️,

July is Disability Pride Month; a time to celebrate the strength, identity, and brilliance of the disability community. For me, it’s more than awareness , it’s about visibility, validity, and pushing for true inclusion, whether someone has a visible, invisible, or no disability at all.

Living with sensorineural hearing loss and wears hearing aids has shaped the way I view the world. It taught me that communication isn’t just about words; it’s about access, understanding, and being truly seen and heard. The things I have. experienced is what fuels my passion for advocacy.

From founding ASL On The Bluff at my alma mater,Southern University and A&M College to working with the Louisiana State Government’s Office of Disability Affairs, I’ve committed myself to expanding accessibility, especially in underrepresented spaces. Because disability advocacy isn’t just policy; it’s culture, education, and change in one’s community.

Disability Pride means showing up fully, proudly, and unapologetically . It’s about creating spaces where access isn’t an afterthought and everyone belongs.

Let this month and every month; be a reminder that inclusion is a right, not a request. And when we build a world that works for everyone, everyone wins.

Continuing a legacy defined by courage, visibility, and deep-rooted love. 🤟🏾🤍
