#formyparkheads Couple clips from what are IMBO some pretty sweet additions to RMNP!

1. Malice — Imagined this sit start last year while scoping another project on this wall. It adds 5 moves of v12ish into “The Phallus”, with the crux move revolving around a large throw off of one of the most improbable holds I’ve used: a completely slick sloping pinch with a barely there thumb. Finally climbed the whole thing last week after falling off the end of Phallus a billion times this year and last summer and would recommend it for my fellow park enthusiasts lookin for a nice challenge in Lower.

2. Sketch for Summer — sick arete feature up above Nymph Lake that grabbed my eye last fall. Bit of an endeavor to clean and prep but was really psyched to realize you can climb all the way from the back of the cave to the tip top of the arete. Starts with wide compression, then a narrow compression crux, some easier climbing/ good stance on the arete, and then a final high step move where I think the fall is best left untested, although I appreciated @meredithawillingham saying she had me on the spot 😂. Def a worthy one If ya like squeezin’ and sketchin’.

V psyched for new tings this year, the amount of stone in CO is rather limitless innit. by @liamab

‘25 post because this year felt like a big one.

-Started the year off casted up for a partial lig tear in the wrist, didn’t climb for realsies from mid October until about mid March. Bummed hard and pushed for changes to round out life outside of climbin’. Turns out there’s always more to be done on and off the rocks and a lot of that work is carrying over into this year. Striving for more focus, intention, gratification, fun, and connection and hell bent on finding it in all of life’s arenas.
-Ran a ton and went for a slightly underprepared effort at the Boulder skyline traverse which was extremely gratifying in spite of leg cramps I could not have dreamed. It turns out I actually really like running!
-We found a pretty sweet place to rent up in Longmont! Happy to be out of the Denver city grind and loving the spot.
-Once health, @meredithawillingham and I went to the Rocky park every frickin day! (More or less). I think we probably both had our best years of climbing and I think we’ve worked real hard through circumstances that haven’t always been the easiest
-Most importantly. speaking of RMNP, skipping ahead but we got engaged!!! To be wed!!!! Amazing. Happy. Forever style. ❤️❤️❤️ I am so thankful to have a life partner who is funny, curious, thoughtful, smart, and pushes me constantly to look at the “Why’s” in life. I can’t imagine the growth of the last few years without this woman and I am so excited for a lifetime of it.
-Got to spend so much time with friends old and new. Feeling so fulfilled by community and friendship.
-Made a lovely trip for the besties wedding and reconnected with NEngland
-Got psyched as hell on following baseball again.
-good fam time with visits here and visits there.
-idk lots more and too much to sum up in an instagram post but just felt like a significant year of life generally and it’s nice to share here and there even though social media is a mindless hell scape :) by @liamab

My best shot at summing up a rather lovely extended summer. Picked up a few injuries and left me main projects undone, but it turns out that when you have the best partner, friends, dog, mountains, and lakes imaginable, summer is still pretty damn great.
Had an absolute blast romping around the alpine with @meredithawillingham @kaiwebs @imknowa Josie 🐕 and many more these past months, and I’m already looking forward to the next one :) by @liamab

Joes Nems!! Both these blocs took me around 10 sessions, and it felt damn good to get em sorted out this spring. Notes: The longer I’ve climbed, the more it has become clear that ego and expectations are at the detriment of progress and fun. This gets exacerbated by climbing internet culture, which too often seems centered around wanting to look cool/strong by making it seem like everything was easy for you, subtly putting down the efforts of others, and not wanting to admit or share when the blocs are the ones doing the shitting. Accept where you’re at rather than letting a warped version of what “should” happen based on a grade or other people’s descriptions of their experience dictate your own. Lean into the battle, try your ass off, see em through. Climbing rulez, when you let it. by @liamab

Top quality choss down in the South Platte. Lots of fun.

1. Tiger Style from @a.geiman —5 stars on almost all counts, just missing acceptable stone. Mega! (Vid from 2 moves in)

2. Silver Spoon from @cooperdoe and @benblackmore01 — sleeper banger with a pretty spicy last move, go do it.
