It was another special year for Newburgh Wrestling.

Huge congratulations are in order for my friend & long-time training partner @nick_conetta . Coach Conetta was recognized as the Friends of Section 9 Assistant Coach of the Year, a tremendous and well deserved honor.

As a program, 3 athletes qualified for the State Championships. Will Soto took 3rd, earning all-state honors for the 4th time in his career, a remarkable achievement. Billy became a 2x NYS Qualifier, while Mateo broke through as a first time NYS qualifier in his senior season. 6 athletes took home All-Section honors. We return a young, hard working group next year, and we are sending a number of our talented graduates to wrestle at the next level in college. I couldn't be more proud of all these Goldbacks. Thank you all for the memories.

It was a privilege to help coach this group. Our seniors were vocal leaders. Throughout the lineup we had young men of character of who worked hard and improved themselves over the course of the season. We had unbelievable support from our parents and families, without whom, none of this would be possible.

Selflessly, our athletes would volunteer and help steward the next generation of Newburgh Wrestlers as part of our Futures Stars program. I am grateful for all the community members who sent their children to Future Stars and gave the sport a chance.

I want to thank @williamparks184 & @nick_conetta for giving me the chance to be a small part of this incredible program. I want to thank all of our athletes for trusting me in their corner. I want to thank @livewellwithyael for preserving so many great memories for the entire program throughout the season.

Being a wrestling coach is a singular privilege in my life. I will never take it for granted. Let's have a great off-season! See you all next year; same bat time, same bat channel. ☘️ by @liampicksfights

The coach does not fall far from the coaching tree. Jimmy laid the foundation, and now we keep building 📈

Cheers to the next generation of wrestlers chasing their dreams. I hope you have a coach that impacts your life as much as my coach impacted mine. 🍻☘️ taken in Arlington High School (New York) by @liampicksfights
