📚 Back to school means more than new shoes and sharpened pencils… It’s also a chance to remind our children that how they treat others matters. This simple activity shows how words and actions, especially unkind ones, can leave lasting marks. Even if you say sorry, the impact remains. 💛 At Excel, we teach children to lead with kindness, empathy, and confidence because real strength is about lifting others up, not putting them down. Let’s help our kids start the school year with a strong mind, a kind heart, and the tools to stand up for others, not against them. #BackToSchool #ExcelInLife #RaisingKindKids #MartialArtsMindset #WordsMatter #ParentingWithPurpose by @liamrichards_excel

🎉👏 Welcome to the Excel Family, Otis! 💙 Meet Otis, who’s just 4 years old and has officially started his martial arts journey with us at Excel! 🥋 Yesterday, Otis joined our founder, Liam Richards, for his very first 1:1 Excel Welcome Experience, and he did brilliantly! We were so impressed with how well Otis listened, concentrated and gave everything a go as he learned our 3 Secrets of Confidence and some of the foundations of our MiniStrike programme. We’re really excited to welcome Otis and his family to our Thursday and Saturday classes, and we can’t wait to see him grow in confidence, make new friends, find his voice and develop important life skills that will help him both inside and outside the academy. A big thank you to Otis’s family for trusting us and investing in his development and future. It’s a privilege to be part of his journey. Welcome to the Excel Family, Otis! We can’t wait to see what you achieve! 💙🥋 #ExcelMartialArts #ExcelInLife #MiniStrike #SheffieldKids #ConfidenceForKids by @liamrichards_excel
💙 WELCOME TO THE EXCEL FAMILY, BOBBIE! Yesterday at 1:30pm, Bobbie’s dad gave us a call. Liam answered the phone… He shared that while they’d been away on holiday, Bobbie had been messing around and training with her uncle — and it had sparked an interest in learning kickboxing, Muay Thai and martial arts properly. Just two hours later, at 3:30pm, Bobbie walked through the doors at Excel for her Welcome Experience. And what a first impression she made. She walked in with the biggest, happiest smile that genuinely lit up the academy. 😊 It was a pleasure meeting Bobbie and her dad, learning more about her and finding out what she wants to achieve through martial arts. Bobbie is already a confident, focused, disciplined and resilient young person, and now she wants to develop even further — learning self-defence, improving her fitness, challenging herself and building skills that will help her in all areas of life. She absolutely smashed her Welcome Experience, decided to get started and officially became part of the Excel family. 🥋 And today, she completed her very first class — and did brilliantly again. She even earned her very first stripe towards her yellow belt. 💛🥋 What an amazing start. Congratulations, Bobbie. We’re excited to have you with us and to support you on your journey to becoming even more confident, disciplined and resilient — and ultimately helping you Excel in Life. 💙 And a big thank you to Bobbie’s parents for trusting us and investing in her development and future. Welcome to the family, Bobbie! 👊🔥 #ExcelMartialArts #ExcelInLife #Sheffield #MartialArts #Kickboxing #Confidence #Discipline #Resilience #SelfDefence #ExcelFamily by @liamrichards_excel
From being bullied at school… to helping others become stronger and more confident. 🥋 Branden has been training in martial arts for around 24 years and is now a 4th Degree Black Belt and Teacher at Excel. When he was younger, bullying at school affected his confidence so much that his mum increased his martial arts training from twice a week to four times a week — to help him become confident enough to stand up for himself. That journey shaped who he is today. Now, Branden gets to help students from all different backgrounds come out of their shell, build confidence, make friends, develop discipline and become stronger versions of themselves. His journey hasn’t always been easy either. Injuries, periods of losing motivation and falling out of love with training have all been part of it. But that’s one of the greatest lessons martial arts teaches us: Keep showing up. Keep going. Never give up on yourself. Sometimes the quiet, unsure or struggling child you see today just needs the right environment, the right role models and time to discover what they’re capable of. ❤️ That’s what we want every student at Excel to experience by @liamrichards_excel
From being bullied at school to reaching the final of Britain’s Got Talent and helping thousands of children grow in confidence. Nearly 30 years of martial arts training and next year, 20 years of Excel Martial Arts. Getting back on the mats today reminded me what martial arts has given me: strength, calm confidence, discipline and resilience. I know what it feels like to live in fear, to struggle to speak up and to scared to protect yourself. It’s one of the biggest reasons Excel exists today. Because a child who is struggling now can become confident, resilient and empowered and grow into a leader who lifts others. Next month, for Anti-Bullying Month, we’ll be helping even more children build the confidence to stand strong, speak up and believe in themselves. 🥋❤️ by @liamrichards_excel
