I thought it was time to share.

On 18th April my world came crashing down as I was told I have Breast Cancer. I never ever ever thought I’d write anything like this but now we’ve had time to process it as a family and a week in the sun was the time out I needed to get my head round it!

Even though I look after cancer patients everyday I never thought someone would actually say those words to me.

I’m not sharing for sympathy but I’m sharing for people to know that if you ever think that something is not right health wise and you don’t feel you are getting the right answers you should push as they may say it’s nothing but it can also be something serious!

After seeing consultant today the news was more postive than I was expecting so I can finally breathe 💗 by @liann.a33

HOPE.

A word that means so much more to me now than it ever did before.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and behind all the pink, there’s so much pain that people don’t always see.

I laugh, I joke, I use humour to get through things. But sometimes that humour hides so much hurt, fear and anger.

Four years on, I’m still trying to make sense of it all.

It’s hard living in a world where cancer exists. Where one diagnosis can change not just your life, but the lives of everyone who loves you.

I have so much to be grateful for, but that doesn’t mean I’m always okay.

And I think that’s what hope means to me now.

Not pretending everything is fine. Not having to be positive all the time.

Just hoping that there are more good days ahead. More memories to make. More life to live.

And hoping that one day, fewer families will ever have to experience this pain. ❤️

October. Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀

I will never stop sharing.

Not because I want to live in the past.
Not because I want cancer to define me.
But because I know how quickly your whole life can change.

This wasn’t the life I wanted.

I wanted to be a mum again.
I wanted my favourite person in the whole wide world to be a dad.
I didn’t want to be thrown into menopause in my 30s.
I didn’t want to live with the fear of recurrence, or wonder why this happened to me and what I did to deserve it.

And October can be hard.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month can be incredibly triggering when you’ve actually lived it. The pink ribbons everywhere. The “pink washing”. Seeing breast cancer turned into something pretty and pink when the reality is anything but.

But I also know why awareness matters.

I want people to know their normal.

Not to live in fear. Not to constantly look for cancer. But to know your own body and recognise when something changes or doesn’t feel right for you.

And if something doesn’t feel right, advocate for yourself.
Go back. Ask again. Push for answers.

You know your body.

And please, if you don’t know how to check your boobs, pecs or chest — learn. @coppafeel ! and @breastcancernow have amazing resources showing you what to look and feel for.

I will never know if sharing my story might make one person check themselves, book an appointment or go back when they know something still isn’t right.

So yes, four years later, I’m still talking about breast cancer.

So sad our Universal adventure is nearly over but feeling very grateful for the memories we’ve made here.

It was never just about climbing a mountain.

The fear. The doubts. The tears. The exhaustion. The moments of wondering how much more you’ve got left in you.

It all felt strangely familiar.

Four years ago, treatment was a completely different kind of mountain. You couldn’t see the top, you didn’t know what was coming next… you just had to keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Funny how a mountain can bring back so many emotions. 🥹⛰️

Snowdon at night………wow that was such a challenge, and I kinda loved most of it 🤣 Rain, wind, fog, crazy slippy underfoot, spicy 🌶️ ascents and scree filled descents, but guided by the best people, we did it!!!! All in the name of chest checking and early detection saving lives for @coppafeel

If you had told me when I was diagnosed, that cancer would lead me to a life filled with of adventures and people I absolutely adore, I would never have believed you!!!! @jenni_b_78 and @liann.a33 we absolutely smashed it 🙌🏼

Always lovely seeing our incredible @charity.challenge crew, who honestly are the best in the business for all of this. The organisation, care and support you get walking with these guys is just another level. See you all again in three weeks for the @coppafeel trek at The Lakes 🥾⛰️

I am approaching 4 years since my triple negative breast cancer diagnosis, and I never take a day for granted that I get to still be here to push myself, and live my life to the craziest fullest I can. Okay, hear me out… is it a little bit crazy? YES 😂

But aim for the stars and you might just surprise yourself, right? ✨

Tropic have launched their Jet Set incentive and I’ve decided I’m going for it. My first dream is Tropic HQ 🌴✈️

Barcelona and Mexico? We’ll file those under slightly delusional dreams for now 😂 But you never know…

And I’ve got until 31st August to make it happen. 👀

By then I’ll have literally just climbed Snowdon at night for charity 🥾⛰️… so honestly, what better way to celebrate than finding out I’ve managed to earn a trip to Tropic HQ?! 😭✈️

The thing is… I can’t do it without you.
